thing is he has said repeatedly that he doesnt want to be traded (he has a no trade clause)

wants to finish his career in cincy

the most revealing thing about this is that mlb requires players to purchase inventory

like he has to purchase every official rendon 6 jersey on the shelves across the country

lmao

i dont know why but his disdain for his jersey number is hilarious to me

told mlb to stop selling it so that 40K number can be lowered

‘i hate that number...$40k to change it? well fuck that, then’

Since russell been on the dl javier baez hitting .297/.955 ops 7 hr's 21 rbi's 16 runs & stellar defense at ss.

Also the cubs best hitter with risp hitting .342

Why roberts have him pitching the 10th tho? I know his pitch count was low but there's only so many times you can go through an order before at least one hitter can see the ball.

If the no hitter stayed intact would he have went 11? lol

Only thing i can think of was he didn't want to face the backlash like last year when he pulled Ross Stripling during his no no. Roberts caught a lot of heat for that.

On Monday, the Mets announced that young starter Steven Matz was being shut down. Manager Terry Collins insisted that Matz was not hurt, telling reporters, “This is not an injury, this is not an injury ... If he had to pitch he could pitch tomorrow.” A few hours later, the Mets announced that Matz will be having surgery to reposition an irritated ulnar nerve in his pitching elbow, which sounds a hell of a lot like an injury.

According to a source, Matz consented to multiple pain-killing injections, occasionally on game days, to quell the pain that came along with an elbow that at times swelled to the size of a grapefruit. The pain came and went, though the elbow bothered him mostly between starts.

One source described a belief by some in the organization that Matz was simply learning to get over the “mental hurdle” of pitching through pain. Indeed, injury has been a constant theme throughout his career.

reading this matz story makes me wonder if the mets have the worst team doctors in sports

especially after the syndergaard incident

maybe its just playing the mets and the tigers but the yankees are starting to improve a bit

they are 19-12 over the past month

and from this point on they will have 23/34 games at home in the bronx

where they have played significantly better than on the road
