Bartolo Colon is officially washed, and of course the Larry Holmes disease fully sets in when he pitches for us. Coppy needs to cut his ass

He won either 15 or 16 games last year with the Mets, and overall, the past 3 years with the Mets he was slightly above average.

Obviously, that Mets ballpark isn't as hitter friendly as suntrust but Colon is getting belted on the road as well. Father Time just finally got him it seems. You're right about him being old as hell

i will never understand the

bartolo

youre a fat, roly poly, non athlete whose career should be over'

Major League Baseball will investigate domestic violence allegations against Cubs shortstop Addison Russell, reports Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago-Sun Times.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, a friend of Russell’s wife, Melisa, accused Russell of “mentally and physically” abusing Melisa. As a result, the league would like to interview both Melisa Russell and her friend, according to Wittenmyer.

Not a good look.Russell been terrible this year too

i think it was during one of the early season espn games that there was a feature on russell commenting on his maturity in the face of the fame of the world series win and the expectations of a talented and young professional athlete

if the allegations are true or not

an unstable domestic situation is weighing on his mind regardless and is probably a factor in his on field performance being below expectations

i remember frank thomas going through a divorce one season and his stats just sunk

theres also a rumor about him being an alcoholic out there too

theres a real chance that russell could miss some serious time and this year ends up being a total waste for him

This season in general probably a wash.Damn near every Hitter has regressed, they can't hit with risp(worst in mlb),pitching & defense regressed.Pitching overachieved in '15 & '16.Arrieta won the cy young in '15 & Hendricks + Lester were top 3 cy young candidates last year and hendricks led mlb in era his velocity down era up,jake velocity down era up.Lackey sucks,Anderson got injured as usual, butler average.

Along with some ws fatigue/hangover I seen this early.Doubt the cubs do anything this year they may not even make the playoffs.

Stanton, who batted only .240 last season and is a .267 career hitter, is at .284 and here are two reasons:

As of Wednesday, he was swinging at less than 30 percent of pitches out of the strike zone (best/lowest in his career) but is making contact on far more of the ones he swings at.

In fact, overall, Stanton — who made his Marlins debut seven years ago Thursday — is making contact on 74 percent of the pitches he swings at, compared with 65 percent in his career.

Happy to see this cause it's been feast or famine with Stanton since he got smacked in the face

Rockies lookin legit.I'm tired of these mf's

They are starting to get separation in the standings and i don't like that. The crazy thing is they are known for playing well at home historically bcuz of the thin air or whatever but they are killing it on the road this year.

Don't worry, they will fold when it counts.

Yup good offense, good starting pitching, strong bullpen & defense.Holland pitching like he did on the royals

I think they'll be in it all season & could make a run in october.

there is no late in their career urgency on this club especially with ross gone

its a bunch of 20-27 year old guys that won the world series and went on an off season binge of events and endorsements

they will win the division more than likely but the division is bad so that isnt exactly a ringing endorsement of their capabilities when the post season arrives — the season is about a 1/3rd over and plenty of time to get going but they havent shown any indication that is going to happen yet

but maybe they have a switch (the bats at least)

may tonights mlb draft be just as plentiful at the 2016 draft for the white sox

this year and next years drafts will determine a huge portion of the rebuild
