That Nintendo, Big N, Ninty, Wii U & 3DS thread (R.I.P. Wii U)

Do you think Nintendo will ever release a console that's up to modern spec?

Last 3 generations they've been a step behind spec-wise. Although they have an excuse this time because it's a handheld.

Everything they've done has included modern specs. The NX includes chips and processors you'd find on Sony or Microsoft's current hardware. I think you mean will it display the same graphical horsepower as the competition?

Which is a different thing altogether.

You're saying the Wii and Wii U was in line with modern specs when they were released?

Yeah. Wii U for example had a superior GPU to a PS3 and more RAM. Only the CPU was weaker by comparison.

Just that most devs never really pushed either to their full potential outside of Nintendo with the exception of some coders at publishers like EA, Capcom and Ubi.

Which is why games like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Monster Hunter Tri visually kept up with a lot of their generational peers. Same with Mario Kart 8, 3D World, NFS: Most Wanted (which visually smokes the 360 and PS3 versions) and Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I get what you're saying but it did come out 6 years after the other 2 consoles.

You guys see the Reddit link? Some retail worker got some details. Mostly confirmations of existin' rumours but now 4K is in the talks.

Probably for streamin' and not gamin', tho.

Yeah I read that the portable part will support full hd, basically a upgraded version of the wii u pad/controller...4k for the home console...2 versions one for 300$ and the other for 400$'

First day kop

The concept is very dope.. gotta see the specs and game lineup because a lot of companies don't make games for Nintendo anymore.
