It's an unwritten rule in Hip Hop that if an artist releases 4 classics in a row, that artist has the credentials to be considered a G.O.A.T. lyricist in Hip Hop.

Rakim released his classic Paid In Full 25 plus years ago, but he also released the classics Follow The Leader, Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em and Don't Sweat The Technique as well..he earned his G.O.A.T. title of those 4 releases alone without a weak lapse..all dope in full succession.

Ice Cube did Straight Outta Compton with N.W.A. but went solo and released AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Death Certificate, The Predator, Lethal Injection..all classic albums in full succession.

Lupe has the credentials no doubt..he released Food And Liquor, The Cool, but Lasers fucked up his flow of succession, but unless he releases his next album that will make Lasers forgettable...well.

I'm glad we are having a true hip hop debate on this forum for once, Lupe vs. Nas. Being a fan of both, Lupe can get to Nas's level, but he isnt there yet. Like what was said before, Lupe hasn't released his own "illmatic" yet. Unlike other legends, Lupe doesn't have that one album that stands out as a all time classic among his peers. That one album where even non hip hop fans know about. Dont get me wrong, Lupe is bad, and has potential to be the greatest of all time. But he is no where close to Nas as of yet. Seeing as how Nas is no where near done, it will be great to see the classics yet to come from both these artists.
