I'm in Illinois, but remember that time period almost like yesterday. That police chief was looking irritated as fuck every time I turned on the TV. It seemed like every other day somebody was getting popped. You know he wasn't getting no sleep smh..

The story I remember the most is when a couple was out and the woman got hit, the man called 911 and they thought he was a female because his voiced was so high-pitched smh..

And like damn near every Black person, I was shocked when I found out it was two Black dudes. Shooting sprees before then were perceived as "White folk shit" smh

As an Black Deaf guy attending Gallaudet University in N.E. DC (only 4 year liberal arts college for the deaf in the world) shit was extra crazy.......bad enough that there was a sniper , and the kid from bowie that got shot (was a close close friend of my frat brother who lives in Bowie and grew up with him) ...people were carpooling and shit and at nighttime everybody didn't even want to leave campus...not even to go to Dream/National/Pulse ...

On top of that , during that same time period or right after was the anthrax mail scare, which originate in the Brentwood PO facility which was about directly behind Gallaudet's backyard (we were in the same hood as BET / and Rayful Edmonds's HQ @ New Orelans Pl. as well -- Trinidad area of DC)
