With that said, temporary social assistance shouldn't be deemed as something made available for lazy individuals to take part of. Extended ongoing assistance, however, where the individuals plan is to milk the system for what it can offer all the while having no intentions of ever bettering their situation is while completely on them, abusing the system and the reason it even exists.
It is to provide relief, not a lifestyle. It is to assist in time of need, not to provide forever more. Unfortunately without discipline, drive or ambition some fall into the cycle where they get too comfortable, lack motivation and fail to work on having any vision beyond "getting by" on the behalf of tax payers and there lies the problem; to accept welfare as being the "bread winner."

Lol this is so true. I've been working since I was 16 (Im 28 now), I recently quit my job and applied for welfare so I could go back to school fulltime. I could work while I go to school, but why continue to stress myself out??? I happily swipe my EBT card every chance I get. One day I woke up and said, look at myself, I'm slaving away at a job I hate to be living next to neighbors who chill on the stoop all day everyday doing nothing but collecting a check.
