Troy might get off on self defense, the only issue is that Tax didn't have the gun because Troy had the gun when he was shooting. But an argument could be made that troy didn't know if he had another gun and he had already been shot.

Troy should walk IMO.That's tax fault if other ppl got shot

Tax has been the aggressor in this.

The real question is who shot Troy this 2nd time.It could be unrelated, but if not, that's a whole other issue for somebody possibly.

Troy needs to leave NYC.I like his movement.Idk why ppl hate him so much

That nigga need to move up state NY.

Im just mad at this whole situation. Hip Hop has got to do better. These wasnt some young kids in their early 20s. If im not mistaken, these were both guys in their early to mid 30s, and by no account am I saying they were millionaires, but they were both making enough money legally to live comfortably and provide for their families.

Taxstone threw all that shit away, and if they can pin murder, attempted murder, a gun charge, endangering the public charges on him he looking packers vs.cowboys final score numbers. Basically hes done.

Im mad cause all the wasted potential. This wasnt a street dude living in poverty and doing what he had to do to get by, thats understandable. This was a dude who was given a second chance and made it out, and just threw the rest of his life away on some dumb shit.

And i never listened to a taxstone podcast and was never planning to. I just hate to see potential and a success story turn into this shit.

I dont mean they had the potential to impact the culture in anyway. I mean potential in the sense that a dude like taxstone was a street dude who found a way to make enough money legally to take care of himself and his family. A lot of people born into poverty never get that chance.

Troy was walking around the club shooting.

....after getting shot.

My bet is that he gets a public endangerment charge and maybe possession of a firearm, but everything else will get charged to Taxstone.

Didn't Shyne do 10 years for that same shit?

What if Troy just kept it real and said so and so tried to kill me so I got scared for my life and picked up the gun that fell to the ground and shot at him because I thought he or his people had more guns.Could he get off because of that? It´s some what self defence because they were in a small room and if they sneaked in a gun they could have sneaked in another one.

He would if they could prove the bullets he fired didn't hurt anyone and the people he names are successfully tried and found guilty. But he still a convicted felon who had possession of a firearm, that in itself is a crime, however he could get a lesser sentence or accept a plea bargain for a lesser charge do a few months and be free if he testifies. But he's a rapper and rapper's are more self conscious of their street rep vs their freedom SMMFH.

Troy Ave not the sharpest he'd rather do 20 than do that SMMFH.

Troy Ave ain't no convicted felon.

I thought he communicated that in a breakfast club interview from 2014 that he did time for drugs or something. I remember him saying he got out because he secured a job at Domino's or something and he hated it and quit soon after.

I could be wrong I'm not about to listen to 30 minutes just to find the clip.

lmao what?

Plaxico still got years for that same charge. Troy getting at least 2yrs for discharging a firearm and another 1-3 for public endangerment with intent

No doubt....but it's better than a murder charge.

Thank the internet for cliff notes LOLOL. It was a gun charge not drugs. His lawyer managed to get him on probation. He worked for Domino's pizza for 2 weeks and bounced.

From the 16 minute to 19 minute mark:

No mention of any conviction, no mention of probation.

Somebody was probably just waiting til they caught a charge so they could use this as a get out of jail free card

Who else got charged besides Troy Ave.

I'm talking about witnesses to the shooting

Work gonna go by a tad slower without the TaxSeason pod but oh well.

But damn If Troy would've continued his true calling being a Dominos Delivery man none of this would've happened. Why Roland why?

Word! None of that self-defense shit applies when bruh became the aggressor and started walking around that bitch like Yosemite Sam. They just aren't going to charge him with a murder that he didn't commit.

“I view the charges brought today before the SDNY as a positive step in the direction of true justice for what occurred at Irving Plaza that night,” the Brooklyn rapper said in a statement through his lawyer, John B. Stella.

Troy is fighting attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the gunplay, but the rapper insisted he was forced to defend himself after he watched his best friend get murdered right in front of him. A wounded Troy then wrestled the gun from the assailant, and the NYPD later released a video of Troy firing at an unknown person.

“As we have said since May 26, 2016, Roland Collins (Troy Ave) did not enter Irving Plaza with a handgun the night of the TI concert,” his lawyer Stella, said in a statement. “He was not responsible for the four shots fired inside the Green Room that took the life of his dear friend (Ronald) McPhatter, and caused injury to him and two other innocent bystanders.”
