when u don't know shit about an area....u don't know shit about what can get ur ass killed or not....i'd much rather go somewhere where i don't have to walk around looking paranoid like i'm not from round there..

compton aint bad!!! just roll through there during the day...its a regular old city...and there are actually a lot more Latinos there than there was in the 80s/90s. If you go to disneyland from LA you can drive right through there. LA has calmed down on the gang banging...its still there, but not like it used to be. Im not suggesting u go at night tho....i mean...in LA you only wanna be in Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Long Beach...wherever there is a huge nightclub scene at night.

For me life is about understanding the struggle...and celebrating the victory...So i wanna see the Hoods to understand some peoples struggles...then go to the rich parts...the Beverly Hills...the River Oaks, TX..to see what the rich folks live like...i dont see nothing wrong with that. Me and my lady want to visit Cali. I personally want to see Compton, but of course she's not feeling it. She's has the stereotypical view based off movies and hear say. This isn't a field trips to the hood type deal. I'm aware of the possibe dangers. I want to see Cali and all its glory, but Compton would be the highlight. So those who reside in Cali, visited or have no intentions on going what's your take on it?

Y'all be alright. It's like anyother hood. You don't fuck with them, they won't fuck with you. Besides the way Cali is setup, if you don't live there you really wouldn't know what hoods to go to where the real crazy niggas live.

I feel the T/S...when i go to a city i wanna see the HOODS too...I went to Houston..i was like..i wanna see the 5th ward...southside...when i went to NY i went to Jamaica Queens...idk...in BMORE..omg...them hood spots is so run down. In CALI...people say the hoods look nice...cuz its nice weather...and our buildings aint so weather worn like other places in the states

Yea. It's nothing like on TV. And yes alot of neighborhoods in Compton are very nice and well maintained. Hell even where I live so called "non-ghetto" people just let their lawns go to shit. Grass turning brown and everything. Then when I go to Compton they keep their homes up. And on any given day, it's pretty quiet like any other place. But I do stress DAY.

Went with the family to LA one summer, met up with some family from the LA area and the fam from the bay area drove down as well. We ended up at a cookout right off Crenshaw in Compton. I could throw a rock at Crenshaw and would hit a car driving by.

Basically, my wife's brother and I were out in the front of the house on grill duties, kickin it when some raggedy ass broad with that "I'm high as fuck but trying not to look like I'm high as fuck" walk came down the block. A car pulled up, they made an "exchange", then went about their merry ways. We looked at each other and was like "yeah... you know you in the hood when..." and kept on cookin.

If you're used to that environment, it won't even phase you. Honestly, if you grew up in the hood, there's really no point in even visiting Compton 'cause there's nothing going on there that didn't happen back home.
