That comment in no way shape or form downplays racism, and only an idiot would think that.

I said Scalia's comment was ambiguous: that it wasn't clear if he was saying that we naturally can't compete in rigorous programs, or most of us are better off in less rigorous programs because we receive inferior schooling at lower educational levels. The more evidence that has come to light makes it more clear that he meant the latter, and that isn't racist, even if it is not true.

Except for the fact that black people do excel in top schools and segregation is not an acceptable argument against affirmative action...

As a matter of fact its not even the argument at all...has nothing to do with the subject.

You know what, you should stop talking to me or reacting to my posts, because it is very clear that there is a very great educational and intellectual gap between us. Almost every post of yours betrays how dumb you are.

I never said that Scalia was right, even if understood in the way I suggested. I said that he seems to have been clumsily invoking the mismatch theory, and that this theory is not racist, even if it is wrong.

Posting that passage without saying something about the broader context in which it appears is less than useful.
