I like the game but im having a hard time getting good at it lol. I played so much sf4 its what im used to.

It feels alot stiffer than sf4 ,but its alot faster paced and more "in your face" than sf4. And combos do massive damage in this lol you lose like 65% in an average combo

Is it just me or all the pokes have 0 range ?lol you gotta be right next to people to hit them with anything.

I got the frame data app on my phone i need to put it to use cause im getting counter hit a lot for pressing buttons when Im at frame disadvantage.

I still havent figured the flow of the game and the meta game, i keep trying to start combos with jabs like its sf4 since theyre the fastest normals to hit confirm into a combo but it dont work.

Seems like every combo starts from medium or heavy attacks in this game.

The easy inputs kinda throwing me off too, i keep using my super by mistake when i do shoryukens

Im just gonna play a shit ton of rank matches this weekend till i get the hang of it. I dont care about losing, its the only way to get better anyway

I shoulda put more time in the beta smh

Lol yeah bruh I found myself pressing the v skill because of the damn focus attack smh....

and I feel u on the poke war, I tried to out poke or counter hit my friends chun li with necalli.... big mistake lol.

It feels weird not to have the footsies translate to most of the big combo's any more... it'll take some time to get used to for sure.

The fight mechanics remind me of sf x tekken

Ehhh, I don't know about that. SFxT had a bunch of easy mode type shit with the launchers and chain combos. That said, I wouldn't have minded if they implemented som more SFxT resources into this game.

Hell, I would have been cool with them basically recycling some of the Tekken characters from that game as new characters into this game. For example, they could have taken Raven and basically translated him to this game as Geki from SF1.

The Links feel like SF X tekken to me, where everything is 3-5 frame links and you don't need to plink to do combos in this. Sf4 had a lot of 1 and 2 frame links that started from jabs/shorts

Sometimes I drop combos because I underestimate how easy they are in this lol

'Street Fighter 5's story expansion will be around 1-2 hours long' - New video where Ono discusses upcoming SF5 content with Ayano

18_sf5story.jpg

As we've all been made aware previously, the story mode present in the launch version of Street Fighter 5 is just a prologue for the content that's coming up, and will launch as a free update in June of this year.

We've seen some cinematic trailers teasing at what's waiting for us, and the story mode currently in the game builds up character motivations for the eventual mode, but proper details on what exactly we'll be experiencing have been fairly scarce.

Today, we have a video from Street Fighter series producer Yoshinori Oni and Capcom's Tomoaki Ayano where they discuss some details surrounding the implementation of story mode in Street Fighter 5, and mention that it should be around 1-2 hours long.

Hit the jump to check the video out for yourself.

How to unlock new character colors in Street Fighter 5; updated with all ten of F.A.N.G's colors

The Street Fighter community is roaring right along in our exploration of the brand new Street Fighter 5.

Each of the initial 16 characters has two outfit colors to begin with, but there are eight more you'll want to unlock so that you can most effectively express yourself while playing your favorite.

Unlike Street Fighter 4, which granted colors through sheer playtime with each character, you'll have to get through Survival Mode with each and every one to grab all of them. Here are images of the first 15 characters.

Playing through Survival mode involves facing off in single rounds against different characters with only one life bar. You can purchase health, meter and other buffs at the end of each fight at the cost of your score.

Survival features four difficulty rankings, and beating the first three will unlock a character's colors in the following fashion:

Survival Mode Alternate Color Rewards

Easy, 10 matches - Color 3

Normal, 30 matches - Colors 4, 5, and 6

Hard, 50 matches - Colors 7, 8, 9, and 10

Hell, 100 matches - Title

Havent played anyone yet just doing story a d stuff to unlock things

Im guessing the rank matches give you the currency to buy the dlc characters?

By doing all of the story modes I got enough fight money for a dlc character.

you basically get Alex for free if you get 100% in all story modes

Prices revealed for DLC characters and costumes in Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 will feature multiple currencies with which you'll need to purchase the game's locked content.

Destructoid has grabbed an image from what looks to be the official Street Fighter 5 guide detailing just about everything you'll need to know when it comes to said currencies.

The first of these is Fight Money, and this will come directly from playing the game. You'll generate Fight Money for competing online and completing single player modes. This currency can be used to purchase gameplay-related content.

The second form of currency is called Zenny, and will cost actual money to obtain. Zenny can be used to access gameplay-related content immediately, and is the only means by which to obtain premium character costumes.

You'll find all the details in the image below:
