yeah I'm really not going to read your long-ass link to some guy's blog, bruh

you've tried and failed to make an argument with your own terms

and your morality is based purely on the authoritarian whims of a non-existent psychopathic despot

your sense of right and wrong is actually inferior to any atheist's

yall need sum critical thinking classes. no lie.

as we've covered repeatedly and you yourself have admitted, the Bible says that it is permissible to enslave people, abuse them, enslave their children, and pass them on as inherited property.

and as we've also discussed and you've admitted, the Bible says it's okay to mercilessly slaughter people, even to the point of genocide.

but I think the worst thing about the Bible is its core message: Another person can take responsibility for your actions.

Murdered a guy? It's okay, Jesus will do the time for you.

Raped a child? You're washed clean in Jesus' blood, bruh.

Any horrific crime you can think of, Jesus will take the heat for.

This is not morality. This is insanity.

it is not permissable to have slaves without their consent. the oppressive slave masters were not acting in accordance with God's law

the people God wiped out were all-evil. they were killin themselves, havin sex with everyone including children, killing children, and were perverting everything holy. they had not a shred of holiness in them. our justice system puts to death people who commit 1st degree murder, moron

and i've still yet to see someone show me a verse where God says YOU CAN BEAT A SLAVE

i know that part, bruh. it actually makes it even worse.

back in the day, these superstitious fools would cast their sins onto a goat, stab it, and send it into the wilderness to die. (scapegoating)

but this even crazier cult believes that you can cast your responsibility onto a human being, who is then brutally tortured and murdered because this is the best idea his psychotic supernatural father can think of.

you've spent your whole life in this awful human sacrifice cult, ritually drinking his blood and eating his flesh, that you have never even considered how horrific it really is.

You have been repeatedly proven wrong about this. God allowed the Hebrews to take prisoners of war and enslave them.

the people God wiped out were all-evil.
Hitler said this about the Jews. God is actually worse than Hitler. Hitler would kill you, but that would be it. God wants to torture you in a lake of fire FOREVER.

they were killin themselves, havin sex with everyone including children, killing children, and were perverting everything holy. they had not a shred of holiness in them.
This is how the story goes from the Hebrews' point of view. Obviously, the Canaanites would have told a different tale. If they hadn't been slaughtered.

our justice system puts to death people who commit 1st degree murder, moron
I don't condone the death penalty, bruh. The most successful nations are secular and have gotten rid of it.

he died for our sins. he is the sacrifice. he went thru all the struggles we have including temptation so that no human can say "well God just doesnt know what its like to be human n deal with all this madness".

and jesus did not do this against his will. he is the blood of the lamb. his blood washes away our sins. the sins of man and perversions of holiness are what created cults that u compare jesus' sacrifice to.

lol at the part in the garden of olives where jesus asks his dad "Uh... if there's some other way we can do this, that would be cool."

even as a kid when i was being brainwashed in church, i had to do a double-take at that verse.

Since we've already covered the Old Testament, let's see where the New Testament says slavery is okay:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

no matter the punishment, the reward is FAR greater. many fail to think about this b/c theyre tryin to hard to make a point theyre not really even making

The reward is you get to worship the dictator at his feet, forever.

Bad deal.

wow what an argument.

Wait, you think the Hebrews were actually telling the truth about why they invaded the region and took the land?

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Epic thread... Epic ignorance... Epic ether... Epic wins & losses. Atheists win.

I'm sure it's been said.. But if you say "the universe/life/whatever had to be created by something and that something must be God" you forget that God had to be created at some point as well... and if God was created from nothing, why couldn't Space have been formed in that way instead? Anything being created from nothing seems outlandish, but atleast tha Big Bang Theory was created using knowledge and actual studies. I can't bring myself to say God doesn't exist because I believe there are things in and especially out of our universe that we can't understand or even imagine at this time, but I think it's unlikely that "he" does. I think it was a thread on here showing planets outside of our solar system compared to planets inside of it and some of those planets reduced Earth and tha Sun to like 1 pixel on tha screen in comparison. Earth was hardly visible yet we still imagine everything (aliens for example) to be roughly scaled at tha same size as us because that's most people's level of understanding at this point in our existence. My point being - There could be some kind of "God" or "Gods" out there in a far away place but we just don't have tha ability to understand because of our limited knowledge of this small area in space which as far as we know is or could be infinite. There's alot to be learned and unfortunately we will probably never know tha answers in this lifetime.

Religion is mostly bullshit... Any thing you think it gives you could be obtained without it. Most of tha information is outdated in religious text and has been disproved many years ago yet so many people are afraid to let it go. It's a safety blanket for them, but eventually it'll be gone and future generations will laugh at tha ignorance it carried. Tha same way we look at witches, goblins, monsters and all that shit today will be how tha future looks at religion. If you're religious and you see some kind of tribal ritual on National Geographic and think those people are silly or crazy, just remember you're in tha same exact boat, you're just desensitized to it because it's all you know. Steve Harvey is a fool and I pay him no mind because his ignorance is probably irreversible like Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck.

This was just a rant from a high dude though... I just wanted to be part of this epic thread

once again, u are missing the whole context of the situation. in the new testament christians were slaves under the romans. they were encouraged to become free if possible, but if not, they should serve their master as if they are serving God. not to cause incident and harm to themselves or others. and also pointing out that God does not care about social statuses of people, if u do the will of God, no amount of money or lack thereof will effect your entering the gates of heaven. i have still yet to see a verse where God tells people to enslave others.

yea u got part of it, along with no more death, no more suffering, no more pain, diseases, complete happiness and satisfaction to say the least. u know, no more of the kinda shit everyone bitches about dealin with while theyre here on earth.

u know, the bible doesnt sugar coat anything. it gives u the good, the bad and the ugly. including the sins that the hebrews and some of the holy men did. so......try again

as a majority the world is corrupt. the world is sinful and willingly evil. theocratic or not dont matter, united states has the word God everywhere yet we go killin ppl for shit that sumtimes has nothin to do with us. just because sum1 said they murdered another in the name of jesus....................does not mean jesus told him to do it or that christianity is now evil

all science ever does is discover something thats already been there. science explains HOW it happened, God explains WHY it happened.

But that brings it back to How was God created?........ And like I said if your response is "He just is" or "He created himself" etc. why couldn't that same answer be applied to space or any other force? Not tryin to throw shots at you, but explain why it has to be God? It just seems unreasonable to throw "God" in tha picture when there's other things that could have happened which can be be explained atleast to some extent.
