yeah you would rather some fake gangster tell you lies, i understand, gucci mane went to college, does that make you hate him now?

nah, but i can separate rap music from my personal life

I dont idolize these niggas, its the entertainment industry, not "the most intelligent noneducated conscious rapper industry" or "realest gangsta rapper industry", if somebody has a song i like i listen to it, thats all, it doesnt determine my educational level, socioeconomic status, or my stance on societal issues

does that make sense? Some niggas act like theyre better than somebody else because they listen to boring music

bu you see, kanye atleast tried, alot of these weak niggas put in no effort, if i can tell you atleast tryin then i'll listen to you

I totally get what you're saying. I agree with you. I agree with T/S, too, but he's a little extreme. I just believe you don't need to be a above average lyricist to make good music or good songs. Not that they can eventually become the GOAT, but its not about that. Everybody is not out for that title.

I don't like Gucci and Jeezy or the Cali Swag Kids (or whatever their name is), especially enough to buy their albums. But I'll admit if I like a song of theirs.

And then you have artists that are there to support different elements. I own every Nas record, but I don't look for his music when I want to go to the club and dance. That's Soulja Boy's job. When I want to get hype with my niggas in the club, I look for Flocka. I will never buy their album, but I respect what kind of music they bring to the game.

personally i don't care about content, i care about creativity, you can rap about money, clothes, cars, and hoes and still be a lyricist, there are niggas out there who can take an oj da juiceman verse and reconstruct it into pure lyricism with the same subject matter

Thats what im saying...there is a balance, it doesnt have to be all conscious or all street shit, all that shit can be appreciated at appropriate times

Ive heard some records from lupe/mos def/talib that were really interesting from a social commentary POV, but i still turn up rick ross/flocka/jeezy records

Nothing wrong with it at all. I totally agree with you. I just don't think you should not discredit someone because they are not as good at coming up with equally dope verses.

If you're actually good at rapping, it is a skill. So everyone won't be able to be as good as a Kweli or Rakim.

What I'm saying is just because a person doesn't qualify as being a good rapper, doesn't mean they can't make good music.

so because somebody can make good music, they can produce effortless lyrics?
As long as waka flocka is makin good music, he can say "waka waka waka waka, bow bow bow bow" for a whole 12 bars?
