I had to ignore a couple people too, like oh now you concerned? I'm dead as far as you're concerned.

But yeah we're good, thankfully.

I know ppl lost lives, property etc but in my selfishness I can't help but to think on that storm up my bday weekend lol..

Me personally I'm fine. No significant loses. One of my best friends lost his house tho. He works for the state so I'm assuming he'll get the help he needs to rebuild but still i can only imagine how devastating the feeling is to practically lose everything. I'm probably going to volunteer in some form or fashion this weekend..

so according to that "pattern" it'll be 8/29/2023....

Oh shit there is a pattern.

First two are 3 years apart, next two are 4 years, and current two are 5 years.

Survey says next one will be 6 years from now. 2023

I work in the Houston housing business and it's already been happening. Heights, 3rd and 5th wards, east end...it's about to get real trendy. Some property values are in the hundred thousands, while the clapboard houses that sit on them are basically worthless. This storm did some people a favor, and it ain't the ones that need a favor.

you aint never lied....i was looking to buy a house if i would of got this city job and i was looking at the fifth ward......man a house which was basically a tear down was going for 45-55 racks. i was like something is strange and then little bro said they just trying to sell the land cause its about to be a poppin spot. smmfh. white people kill me

Crazy, sad situation. Stuff like this does show that there is more good people than scumbags though.

I hope everybody in that area is safe and sound.

Before the flooding from Hurricane Harvey, Houston had been a rare, fast-growing U.S. metropolitan area that had retained an affordable housing market, though prices had risen in recent years and held steady through an oil-price crash starting in 2014 in this center of the U.S. energy industry.

Houston’s median home price in July was $230,000, unchanged from a year earlier, and the median value of all off-market homes was substantially less, at $190,000, according to Redfin estimates. That compares with a national median sale price of $293,400.

The experience of New Orleans gives some insight into what may lie ahead for Houston’s market. In the ten years after Hurricane Katrina, average home prices rose to $339,743 in 2015 from $228,620 in the first half of 2005 – an increase of 48 percent, according to an analysis of New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors data by Real Property Associates.
