my parents had about the same amount of flooding your place appears to have had and at first, thats where we cut the drywall b/c it was just above/below (i cant remember) the outlets, but when they started getting bids on repair work, everybody said that they needed to cut it to the length of a full sheet b/c they werent gonna be cutting strips to just repair those parts

If ya'll still got the people that cut that drywall out, keep em on standby just in case ya'll have to do the same thing b/c the contractors WILL charge for that. Any demo you can do on your own is gon pay huge dividends when the money to fix your home start coming in

Yea you're rt. We just cut right there to stop the mold from spreading..we had about 10 people from my church helping. One guy has a construction company. He said the same thing. I believe the sheets are like 4ft. I was just happy to get it done quickly and not have to pay. If the contractor I hire wants to charge more I'll just cut it myself.

My issue with celebrities giving is why not just give and shut the fuck up about it? No one needs to know about it and this challenge is just a dick measuring contest between them. Yea it's good that they're giving, but no one needs to suck your dick about it.

Who says they're asking for credit? Have you not seen the people going at certain celebrities who give w/o announcing what they do? Hell just a couple years ago Harry Belafonte publicly called out Jay Z for that very thing...giving in secret and not publicizing the things he does...then somebody dropped that he was the one behind a bunch of protesters being bailed out in Baltimore and people shut up.

As someone mentioned earlier, beware of contractors soliciting work. DON'T SIGN any estimates or proposals. GET FAMILIAR with your insurance policy. Just because there was flood, does not mean your home did not suffer any wind damages. Set up for your insurance company to Inspect your roof and entire home, as there may be a storm created opening to grant coverage for potential water damages.

BEWARE OF PUBLIC ADJUSTERS- 95 percent of these guys have a template filled with things that will not get paid by insurance companies, but the Public Adjuster gets cut of your settlement no matter if he gets you additional funds or not. Matter of dact, their name goes.on your settlement check.

Just because the 1st inspection gave a denial or limited coverage, does not mean that your claim is over. You have the right to a supplemental inspection, and if ypu have a trusted contractor or handyman, they can be present for the insurance inspection.

Contractors are going to try to come.from all over and charge inflated prices for repair due to the magnitude of.this storm, be wary of most out of state contractors. Familiarize yourself with the terms overhead and profit.
