While I don't think there should be a charge at the door, period, I think it's simply to keep overcrowding away. $50 tickets force ppl to sell out the church on a weekly basis. Once seats are gone, you aren't gonna have issues turning ppl away at the door. At the same time, though, it is a get rich scheme. He knew what he was doing and how to do it.
