So ya'll saying, he produces, just doesn't make beats?

according to the NWA documentaries i have saw and read folks have said that dre started out as a bad drum machine programmer

then he evolved into this sound perfectionist.....and thats why his projects take so long(word to tupac's impatience and temper)

Let's get somebody in here who was, because the same could be said about those who says he does produce

true, but I'm saying. I'll believe what song credits say over what somebody on here say
niggas on here say a lotta negative things about rappers and producers they hate

you accept these dudes words as much as you'll accept a bullet to the face

There wont be anybody that has a source or proof. Only thing we know is that he doesnt write.

He doesn't actually make the beats but he supervises the songs. There is a reason why Daz, Sam Sneed, Warren G, Mel-Man, Scott Stroch (I know he produced alot of hits without Dre but now he's a former junkie who's broke) haven't had the same success since Dre stop fucking with them. Listen to a Scott Storch produced solo song and listen to a Dre and Storch song together and you'll hear a difference.

Y'all do know that a producer doesn't necessarily make the beat, program the drums, or play instruments right? Hell a producer might not even know how to play one instrument.

Exactly. He might not "make the beats" but he PRODUCES them.

Anybody got a source?

yep source magazine oct 03 issue #169 .....

"BEFORE & AFTERMATH"

in a shocking revelation, some of dr.dre's closest associates have broken ties with aftermath records and are ready to expose some of the label's secrets. big chuck, mel-man, neff-u and the legendary eric b. have launched the drama family and they're ready to get the credit they deserve

excerpts from interview : dre wants to be a superstar. he'll sign artists and keep them for a year or two. i guess it's a tax write-off-big chuck

how do u sign rakim and put him in the studio with c-list producers?-big chuck

source:neff-u you've been working with dr.dre for about two years. what records have u done ?

neff-u: i did the beat on the coors light commercial featuring dr.dre. on the eminem show i did "my dad's gone crazy" "say what u say" and "when the music stops". on 50 cent's album, i did "back down" "if i cant" and i played on "heat"

source: the songs you just mentioned on get rich or die trying were all credited as being produced by dr. dre. how did that happen?

neff-u: i have no idea. i thought i would get a co-producer credit [on "if i cant"] but i didn't, so i told my uncle, [big chuck], and he handled it. they are fixing that as we speak. they screwed up the credits really bad, but dr. dre is dr. dre. i dont try to focus on the business; i just love staying the the studio and doing the music part. sometimes the business gives me a headache. i can't get into the creative vibe so i let my uncle handle that stuff.
