Honestly I don't really know why. But for him to make these dancehall themed tracks for views, came off as corny In my opinon. I mean he was just trying to hard, but the tracks sound good though.

You contradicting yourself here playa, first he's trying too hard, but they sound good? Doesn't that mean he achieved his job as an artist? One Dance got to #1 didn't it? Job achieved.

Me personally? They aren't my fav Drizzy songs, I would have liked him straight rapping more. I also feel like Rihanna's Work was better than Controlla and One Dance, but his songs go in the club, no denying that.

Do u americans even bump dancehall ?

Grew up on it. My folks are African. Do i BUMP it regularly and keep up wih new artists? FUCK no. And most americans do not. However this is the point in the debate when eveyone comes in swearing they all listen to reggae all day everyday.

Bottom line, that Drake shit goes. Thats all i care about. Idgaf about the sanctity of reggae bc this is not a remix and we do live in Jamaica.

Rap production revolves around sampling damn near every other music there is, but now Drake supposoed to bow down and give sacrifice for makin some songs get the fuck outta here

Mr. Vegas should have just bodied the track on a dance hall mixtape .....problem solved

That drake song does go in the club .... it's a driving beat while drake is a popular artist ......but let anyone drop some dope to semi decent bars on that track and it'll go in the clubs too ......just to keep that riddem going in the club to keep the people dancing

Whoa! Pump your brakes. He did a good job composing those tracks as an artist. But as a person he is trying to hard to be liked by everyone.

as a jamaican you should know the influence your culture has on the average French Canadian.

this thread is rife with willfull ignorance.... and i hate the kids guts.

Yeah and I also know the majority of French Canadians live in Montreal. Which Drake is not from... So yeah........He seems like a culture vulture to me.

Depends on the city. We have a nice amount of West Indians so they used to have dj sets with a dancehall music. Now it's more about the hits and you have to go to a place that has it's designated night. In N.Y. they always have dancehall artist on the radio.

I think he put too many on the album, I could see if that was typical of him.

When I listen to it, I was thinking to myself that Rhianna must have been in the studio with him during that stretch, and he was caking

We are living in a drake world, everyday theres a new story about drake and some one questioning his authenticity or dissing him.

Its gonna get to the point where some Canadian will come out and question his canadian authenticity lol.

Exactly, it felt out of place with him. It was like he was trying to hit a homerun with this album in regards to winning over a culture.
