Ummm, that was kinda the point of the article. They are trying to do what you're suggesting but they don't have the money, resources, manpower, or space.

I think you're underestimating just how man strays 50,000 is. That's more stray dogs in Detroit than there are lions left in the entire continent of Africa.

resident Detroiter checking in.... i want to discard this story as BS but i have had to pull my piece out once or twice on some stray dogs while ive been out walking my own... i dont buy 50,000 though.. Detroit has so many problems..strays are the least of them
