Reminds me of a dude I grew up with. But hood classic, no. Living in a shithole ain't cool, and Curtis was just another dumb ass nigga with no direction with another dumb ass kid that will have no direction

My wife and I watched it last night. Was on edge way up until the end. The end kinda let me down a bit.

I'm still having trouble with what was real and what was scripted. For instance,
did his bm really die or not?

The shootout scenes make it easier to believe it's fictional because if it were real and I'm in a place where bullets are flying at my head, ain't no way I'ma keep shooting and not drop a camera and haul ass. Camerawork was a little TOO good in some parts. Ultimately tho, interesting flick.

At first I thought this movie was fake when I saw the beginning. I was no way he would have that on tape robbing some white kids and not get some serious time for that but everything after than...........shit that had to be real. Then I started looking at the interviews from the director and he was talking about how many times he got locked up with Curtis from filming and had to bail him out like 5 times.

No more doubts this shit was real.

so wait a min. all that crap in the movie that went down, ACTUALLY happened? like that was real deal?

Come on, son..don't be an idiot.

First & foremost...ya mama. Bitch.

Secondly, I asked b/c the crap was that real. So it was kinda hard to decipher what was real. Good movie nonetheless.

Started watching this couldn't finish it. Fundamentally a film like this is flawed. They try to make it like a documentary but they the tell it from the POV of the criminal. Just comes off very corny. I know that's it just entertainment but the quality of this just isn't good.

How is the bold a flaw? Not everyone in the world is heroic, and not ever story is going to be about a good guy.

Guess I got to spell if out for niggas smh. To me having a documentary but telling it from the POV of the criminal doesn't make sense IMO. No real criminal would record their crimes to get caught. So it comes off looking stupid. Take that first scene for example, you're suppose to believe those kids are looking for coke and Snow robs them in the car. Now if you were looking to buy coke, would you record yourself driving around looking for dealers? And better yet, why would a drug dealer look so stupid to talk about it out right and then rob them, and don't destroy the camera? I saying they were better off just making it a regular movie. As a documentary it comes of fake as hell. If you want to watch happens in the hood you're better of watching the corner, the wire, menace or boys in the hood. This will not be remembered. And I found it boring after ten minutes.

You are taking the shit way too seriously bruh? It's not supposed to be some a fucking Jacques Cousteau piece set in the hood. It's more like a Blair Witch Project type deal but in the hood instead of out in the woods. I don't see where you get that it's supposed to be a documentary at all. Clearly, at the beginning of the shit Snow robbed some people, took the camera, gave it to a friend and told him to record shit.. The same way dumbasses do when they make the fodder that WorldStarHipHop is famous for.

I think you are confusing the fact that the some of the shit uses real footage or was inspired by real events and mistaking that for the idea that this is supposed to be a documentary or faux documentary. It's not though, anymore than Cloverfield was supposed be a documentary about a big monster attacking New York.

If you didn't like it, that's cool, but it seems like you're condemning it for something it was never meant to be. And your whole argument falls apart when half the shit you say wouldn't happen, happens all the time. The cops stay getting people because of shit they've said and done in the presence of a camera. Come on man.

Bro the movie was wack, carry on. And why would I take this seriously when in the very first scene you can tell the whole thing is fake. That was the point I'm making. I'm not saying they're weren't trying to do something ambitious. It just failed on every level.

Just say that. Don't try to come up with some philosophical bullshit about how it's bad because it's from the criminal's POV?

its a MOCKUMENTARY. ala blair witch project. which is what it was compared to. except it involved actual people and real stories. if you expected something totally real, then yeah i can see your disappointment. but when you see all these dope boys being cool with cameras, and those robberies, and dude being shot at as he just so happens to be carrying his camera...then even if you didn't know the background, you should have been able to piece two and two together.

And that's all I was trying to say. The shit comes off staged and fraudulent. I know the dude is a real gangsta. But I thought they should have make it a real movie instead of this bullshit blair witch/menace to society crossover.
