I think dude is really trying to clean up and speak on how the police go about frisking ppl, he think they should do it a much better way (at least that's what I got out from reading the bit) like how they do random screening on ppl in the airport, they don't run up on you, they politely (some) ask you to step aside, I think Don is saying police should take this approach more so than taking the "run up on folks and violent search those indivduals'

Don the homie, dude outta B.R. Baton Rouge

My nigga ain't no nice way to stop me and ask me to empty my pockets and search me simply because by being a black male that's outside I fit the description of any number of crimes that have been committed that day

Now you harpin on the wrong shit just to do it...You know good and well that stopping people on the street and apprehending drugs and weapons from them is a bigger factor in lowering a crime rate than the color of the squad cars...That's like sayin y'all have less gun violence because the street sweepers don't make noise in the morning...No nigga, it's cause guns are fuckin illegal in NYC...

Folk

It's going over your head, it's not about fitting a description of anything, it's being done and in the bit, it stated that blacks and others don't have an issue with it being done to them, it's 'how' it's being done...if a cop or again TSA ask you to step aside and let me search your bag, it's how it's done that will get a better response from me and that's what all dude is saying..it's a way to stop and ask you to be frisk especially if it's a LAW, Im not sure if it's that, now you the fool wanna jump dumb for being ASKED to be search and the white man whose walking along with you is asked as well, but you hollering about you don't wanna be frisk, then you deserve to go to jail folk..

Dude is saying (again what I took) the cops need to approach that whole friskin thing in a different way than the way that they are doing now..

So your cool with racists as long as they are polite and courteous about it. SMH...

I'm not following you folk

I took out the bit, Don was speaking about 'everybody' being search, he did mention minority but he was talking more so about how to do the whole frisk and search thing. then he touched on the airport and how it's done where they 'randomly' select anyone and search them, he was leaning on that the whole frisk and search thing should be done that way.. I'm not sure as to how you got that I'm cool with racists with my post. again this is what I took from the bit.

He was saying blacks and others wasn't having an issue with the frisking, it was a problem with how it was being carried out and done.. and he's leaning on from my understanding on cleaning that part up and making it somewhat like how TSA does it to passengers in the airport

Again there is NO right way to do this. You can't just allow cops to stop a person on the streets at random for no reason. ITS WRONG.

Secondly, your boy is saying even tho this policy is wrong and misused by cops to racially profile coloured people, it's ok because you will be safe. It's like saying slaves get a roof and 3 meals a day...let's not worry about being the property of another human being.

They didn't change the colour of the squad cars. Stop being dense. The point I'm making is that there could be a thousand different reasons why crime has gone down. Just because a racist and invasive policy MIGHT...MIGHT be a contributing factor doesn't make it any less racist or invasive...oh and WRONG.

Ok it's wrong

So tell me why TSA does it

Why you go to the club and you are asked to step out the line to be frisk, do you put up a fuss then??

Cops are jumping out of cars hemming up dudes, (yea that's wrong) but if it's the LAW, (again I don't know the LAW there) but he that same cop jump out the car and say or ask, "I'ma need to search you or yall" and he has that right, why not let dude search you or anybody...He's saying because of that crime is down, but again it's how the cops should do this, they are doing it in a forceful way or such, using that as power, but again you stated it's not a RIGHT way to do it, so I wont touch that, but I'm just telling you what Don is stating or what I got out of the bit..I don't think it's an issue folk..

Dudes down here should be frisk, NOPD and the BRPD should frisk alot of these dudes down here, do I think they should jump outta their cars and hem dudes up against the wall, NO, but I think they should go about it in a formative way close to TSA and frisk Everybody, like TSA does, do randomly searches, it would clean up the streets down here I know..what's wrong about that??

I know they didn't...He admitted it's invasive, he and others would like that to change...He and others would not like it done away with, because it's obviously been some kinda effective...Prove it's racist...Show me the overwhelming stats that support racist motives, IE the ratio of whites to blacks that have been stopped since the law was put into motion...Or the instances where innocent blacks have been stopped in comparison to blacks who actually had illegal paraphernalia on them...Don't say it's racist just cause they stop people in areas where niggas do the most criminal shit out in the open...Ion disagree that it's wrong, but hell, folk voted for this and obviously some are still in favor of it...

Given those choices, I'd rather not be "politically correct".

And since I give no fucks about being "politically correct", I have no problem calling Don Lemon a faggot.

"Anyone who says we know this is bringing the crime rate down is really making it up," Fagan says. Others wouldn't put it that harshly, but the evidence does seem to suggest that stop and frisk is, at best, ineffective, and, at worst, actively alienates communities with whom the police need to engage.

This supports what I'm saying... And why Lemon is a piece of shit...

Dude is saying (again what I took) the cops need to approach that whole friskin thing in a different way than the way that they are doing now..

The problem isn't being asked to be searched or trying to jump out there with police. The problem is why you're being asked to be searched and it's based on nothing more than simply being a black or latino male. It's not based on anything more than that. You may be cool with a law that says "Stop black males at random whether or not they actually fit the description for something other than skin color"...I'm not. And for those who say it's been effective

Myth #4: Stop-and-Frisk is not discriminatory.

lacks made up 53 percent of the stop subjects and were 66 percent of the violent crime suspects in 2011... For Hispanics, 34 percent were stop subjects and 26 percent were violent crime suspects.” – NYPD Spokesperson Paul Browne

FACT: Comparing police stops to violent crime suspects is bad math. Only 11 percent of stops in 2011 were based on a description of a violent crime suspect. On the other hand, from 2002 to 2011, black and Latino residents made up close to 90 percent of people stopped, and about 88 percent of stops – more than 3.8 million – were of innocent New Yorkers. Even in neighborhoods that are predominantly white, black and Latino New Yorkers face the disproportionate brunt. For example, in 2011, Black and Latino New Yorkers made up 24 percent of the population in Park Slope, but 79 percent of stops. This, on its face, is discriminatory.

The bold tells you all you need to know. They're not doing it based on actual physical characteristics, just simply race. So yeah go support that shit if you want to.

"There have been three studies to date evaluating the effectiveness of stop and frisk. The first, an unpublished paper by NYU's Dennis Smith and SUNY Albany's Robert Purtell, found "statistically significant and negative effects of the lagged stop rates on rates of robbery, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and homicide and no significant effects on rates of assault, rape, or grand larceny," according to a summary here. "They also found evidence of 'declining returns to scale' (i.e., diminishing effects over time) of the effects of police stops on most of the offenses they analyzed but increasing returns to scale for robbery."

The second (free copy here), by University of Missouri-St Louis's Richard Rosenfeld and Arizona State's Robert Fornango, throws cold water on even Smith and Purtell's modest positive findings on robbery and burglary. They find the stops "show few significant effects of several SQF [stop, question, and frisk] measures on precinct robbery and burglary rates."

The third, by Hebrew University's David Weisburd and George Mason's Cody Telep and Brian Lawton, analyzes where stop and frisk incidents occur to determine whether the program counts as "hot spots" policing, a strategy with demonstrable effectiveness wherein police target resources in geographic areas with heavy crime. The researchers find that the pattern of stops is consistent with a hot spots approach. But this says nothing about the effectiveness of this particular type of hot spots policing . "Given the possible negative impacts of SQF policing, both on citizens who live in such areas, and the primarily young and minority population that is the main subject of SQFs, we suspect especially in the long run that this approach will lead to unintended negative consequences," the authors write."
