Lets get one thing straight:

1. You can't be the number 1 player in the league and don't play any defense or aren't good at defense. There is two sides to the game. (Meaning Dirk can't be best in the league, unless he avg. some uncanny amount like 40-45 ppg). With that being said....my top 5

1. Howard
2. Wade
3. LeBron
4. Durant
5. Kobe (starting to slowly decline, but can't take him out knowing his drive)

My list is about the same except I put rose/cp3 in the top 5 because pound for pound they play just as hard as any of these 6'8 players

So yeah I weight skills versus height in some form/fashion. I think that counts for something, and I can't put Durant in the top 5 if he's never considered to be a defensive stopper.

But there's a difference between not having a jump shot and having poor shot selection

I agree but, LeBron had some bad shot selections thanks to his teammates dribbling and passing too much and then throwing him the ball with 5 seconds on the clock.
He had no choice but to throw up uncomfortable shots and that hurt him.

lol thats such a narrow point used to make Lebron look like the victim.

When Lebron does it, he's a hero for making the assist and getting his guys involved. When his players do it to him, now its "uncomfortable and that hurt him."

Lebrons bad shot selections come from Lebrons lack of a mid range jumper. He's improved on his spot up 3. He can still run you over by dropping his shoulder in the lane. But what he does in between those 2 zones is what really hurts him.

I'm not saying that he doesn't have to improve, he just gets too much hate , alot of players have off nights in their career, it happens.
They make it like he is suppose to have 30 points every game.

the point i dont understand is Lebron is being dropped for his Finals performance and the rest of the playoffs for him are ignored yet Durant nutted up and lost to the same Dallas team , Kobe got swept by the same Dallas team Lebron lost to, Rose was put put by Lebron, and Melo got whooped by Boston yet they appear on these guys lists? and the nerve of them to put Randolph on there smh.... hypocritical prisoners of the moment

............

3. Lebron

4. D Rose

5. Kobe

( I dont see how we can take away Dirk's clutchness in the playoffs away from him)

The thought of Dwayne Wade's turnover prone, inconsistent, referee-dependant, wild, no J game being tops in the league is hilarious to me.

He's nice, dont get me wrong, but sheesh.

imo there is no clear cut number 1 player in the nba rite now
it cant be wade or lebron cuz how can they be considerd the best when they couldnt
lead the heat to the ship with eachother as teamates and it cant be kobe cuz his team got swept
so as of june 16 for me the top 5 is:
1.dirk
2.wade
3.kobe
4.lebron
5.KD

1) How long will he live off 06?????

2) Yes, he outplayed Bron in the Finals. (so did Jason Terry and arguably Shawn Marion)

Bron also outplayed him for 82 games, and 3 series...

and from 07-10 Cleveland and Miami had comparable rosters. Bron overachieved...Wade honestly was forgotten about. 3rd team all-NBA n shyt

Again, Wade is a beast, but gtfoh...

You're reading into it to much as if I'm saying he runs a 4.3 40. Being able to drop 40 points or shoot while doing the limbo is athletic talent. If the word athletic is throwing you off my fault lol

So when I say athletic talent its congruent with saying better than others.

So the sentence should read out, "but I've always wondered if Dirk was good or just better than the competition which sucks at defending anyone on the perimeter."

but u right...really he is atheletic though..how manny seven footers u know could put the ball on the floor aka play like a small forward in a center's body...

also i have no fault with anyone knocking Lebron off the number one list. but to me, regradless of what. I still think skill for skill he is the best player in the nba....

the mavs didnt stop lebron, lebron stopped lebron...(still glad the mavs won..)

LOL nigga said they had comparable rosters...ur a big fan...borderline dickriding with that statement tho....I suggest u look at the rosters again and factor in injuries while ur at it...and cause Bron played more mins than Wade to rack up more stats don't mean he's "better"....at this point that's the only argument LeBron fans have, anybody who wears a shirt that says CHECK MY STATS is a stat padder....when its matters tho, we see where his game goes....but I digress

And at least Wade has an 06 ring to live off of...what does LeBron have????
