Nintendo are in their own lane. If they go multi-console their quality may reduce drastically just like Sega. When did Sonic fall off? I'll give a hint, it was after the Dreamcast.

Bayonetta 2 is a serious contender for GOTY but will probably lose out to some fuck nigga 1st person shooter like Destiny or some shit.

Surprised by the passion of some cats in this thread. Somewhere @sion pounded his fist on the desk while typing on his airbook.

I don't have any numbers but I'm pretty confident Nintendo doesn't have the same number of console sales as ms and Sony. THAT is the pie. If you only have less than 30% of the pie (and I'm being VERY generous by granting them that), you have a limited customer base, right? Why not open yourself to every gamer aka all of the pie and sell to every console. Every argument for Nintendo is about the games not the system itself. Most of these manufacturers lose money on the systems with the intention of recouping money through software sales. By sticking to games, what Nintendo does best, you basically are letting ms and Sony take on the risk of the infrastructure. It's all gravy for them.

A lot of you loyalists think it's a retreat or fail to give up the console but it's really an expansion. Who really buys Wii or wiiu because it's a superior hardware? No one.

Btw, the handheld market should be separate from this discussion. Nintendo dominates that market.
