I gave the thread a GOAT reaction because it's Face, not because I'm feeling the album

The production is mid-tier and the hooks is wack. Face's subject matter is repetitive and unfocused and several tracks. Shoulda just made an ep 6-7 songs cuz that's about all I was feeling. Maybe I need to let it marinate cuz it's only been a couple days

And some nigga had the nerve to shit on Ross in his mixtape thread and wonder why that thread was more poppin than this one lol

Very disappointed

Havnt given the album a great listen yet, just listened to a few songs but this sounds way off base imo.

Nigga you trippin only shit that ain't hittin is the intro and outro, Face subject matter always been bout real shit. Ross is more popular so obviously his thread gonna get more responses. That Black Dollar go hard though but I'm fuckin with this album a lil bit more.

I fuck with this. Shit's deep. I got cases goin on right now. Everything he was talkin about was hittin.

Shit got me paranoid even though I know I'ma be good

tot id give scarface a try being that he is a well respected hip hop legend.

word, never been a huge fan, slick feel he's overrated but id never argue he aint a legend. gave this album a chance off that strength. feels like half the niggas in here over prop him or shit on anyone who aint feeling the album cuz they know he a legend and not based on the actual music. idk

album is cool/ok so far, i like the production but none of the lyrical delivery actually stands out. steer is kinda cold tho and that do what i do. like trilla said maybe i need to let it marinate but ion hear nothing on here worthy of going in another artist thread and crying about this one not getting enough attention.

4/5. A step below Emeritus to me. I thought Emeritus had more of an edge to it. I thought he was better lyrically on there also. I think face having to handle everything on his own took something away, but I still fuck wit it hard, and hopefully cuz get more comfortable with the process and drop something else. I thought homie made a good point about staying on subject, he strays a bit, but not too much. If you just gettin into face, listen to Emeritus or Last of A Dying Breed, it's a better showcase of my nigga's talents. It's funny as hell because I remember havin geto boys til death do us part, and the diary on tape when I was 13 and playin that shit all day like ain't no other rap exist. Now I'm doin the same with Deeply Rooted almost 20 years later. But now niggas really call me OG too, damn I done came a long ass way.

Dope album....he's been in the game damn near 30 yrs....we should be happy he's even still putting out high quality music.....he doesn't need to rely on today's "hot" producers or rappers like every one else.

Wanted to hear that "Do What I Do" track since niggas posted Scarface IG of the mixing the track. Disappointed to hear Rick Ross on it. Still dope none the less. Ro killed the hook

My God. Its a solid 4/5.

Where does it rank on his discog? Iunno. Its a step above Emeritus and I think it rivals Made.

Face sound as sharp as ever. Top 5 dead or alive.

Not as well put together or excecuted as Emeritus. It's close to made but it's below that too. Emeritus is underrated. From the J prince long yet concise intro to the true OG talk on unexpected, that album is damn near flawless. He don't get off subject at all on emeritus, he rambles a little on a few joints here. Anything held its narrative for the most part, Do what I do is just 3 niggas spittin about nothin in particular. Fuck you too wasn't really about nothin either, just face dropping game, I'll always take that. The strength of this album is the vibe, it sounds like an album a almost 50 year old man should make. But on emeritus, the direction on every song is clear, and face paints them pictures vivid as hell.

Off the first listen I like it better than both Emeritus and Made, but you know that's always subject to change.

Off topic but whatever happened to those two cats he made that One Hunid album with. I think they were collectively called The Product. Shit was a nice/slept on project.

shit is dope. i'd take one maybe two songs off, but even if u dont like the production face still has a deadly pen game. u can tell he's in a good place in his life right now if youre a real fan of his.

4/5..mos def one the better releases this year..

I don't even know, they was on emeritus, but that was 7 years ago. I would listen to a will henn solo album though. That product album was slick too.
