Rock of Heltah Skeltah on Meeting Sean Price, Sean Being Crazier than Him (Part 1)

If Rock stayed with Boot Camp instead of signing with DJ Lethal's label, who knows the greatness Rock and BCC could have achieved. Back in 96-98 I thought Rock was next up.

But at the same time these are the circumstances that made Sean Price step up, work hard on his solo material and become the greatest mc of all time.

Heltah Skeltah is one of the greatest duo's in the history of hiphop. Their easily on the same level as Mobb Deep, EPMD and Outkast.

Sean P is one of my favortie MCs but I gotta disagree with this. Heltah Skeltah as a duo never lived up to their potential. Nocturnal was a classic but the other 2 albums they dropped were average.

Mobb Deep EPMD n Outkast all got multiple classics.

Magnum Force has aged pretty well. I like it a lot more than I did back when it came out. Perfect Jab is a classic track.

To be honest the only thing average about D.I.R.T. is the cheesy artwork. It was kinda rushed because Rock was fighting an attempted murder charge at the time but there are a bunch of bangers on it.

I’ll give dirt another spin I remember not liking it but why would it be rushed? Did they think Rock was going to do hard time or something? 2008 that was a long ass layoff since magnum force I don’t see why it would be rushed

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Dre trying to get him on aftermath in that time span and did they ever do any tracks?

I never heard anything about him working with Dre. He signed with DJ Lethal's label and left Boot Camp Clik back in 99/00 when Duck Down got dropped from Priority. According to Rock, DJ Lethal never dropped the album because Lethal and Fred Durst were beefing at the time. Most of that material was released on 2 mixtapes Rock dropped in 03/04. Then he got good with Duck Down again and shit is history.

These are those 2 mixtapes.
