my ears in the street of Miami and Orlando, i hear people playing his shit, i've heard In the morning on the radio for sure and i definetly have heard it on campus at UM and UCF. I'm not one of those people who are stuck in their hood and bubble, i go from city to city and if you say people aren't playing that FNL tape you are out of contact.

I go to School in Washington, D.C.

Live in Delaware. Always in Philly. Travel to NYC sometimes.

His Buzz is BIG in all those places.

]That same buzz he has now is the same buzz Wayne had pre Lollipop dropping, same buzz Kanye had pre College Dropout, same buzz Drake had around his last mixtape,etc[/B]. I just happened to be in college in those time periods, i saw how bitches started feeling them and that's where it generally starts. You really need to get off that Who Dat nonsense too, everyone knew that was a street single and intro song, who besides you was expecting a song like that where he was going in to pop off.

Bwahahahaa, is this dude serious? You take being a stan to the next level if you really think that J. Cole buzz is any where near as big as those 3. Especially Wayne who went on to sell 1 million in a week around that time. You are so delusional its funny. You know Drake made the MTV hottest list in 09 off his mixtape. I didnt see Cole make the 2010 list off his mixtape or his lukewarm single. You say he went in on "Who Dat"? Well if thats "going in" for him then he is finished before he even starts. The rhymes in that song were mediocre at best so if thats going in then wow. You always like to compare him to Drake, so did you know that Drake's street single and lead off song still gets play to this day? Trust me, you are not hearing "Who Dat" and i went to Miami twice over the summer and barely heard that shit.

Great read. Dude has a really good story and I hope he really blows up. It's pointless arguing with lil wayne stans, they see things differently. J. Cole has a nice buzz and has built up a solid fan base that will not fizzle out and move on to the next hyped out thing like a lot of the mainstream artist out now. I'm sure that even if he never becomes a big mega star, that he will always have a big cult like following that will support him and allow him to have a very long career.

I agree with everything you said. I remember this same post when Joe Budden was the J. Cole of his time. I wonder how Joey turned out....

Dude you're a straight fucking hater, dude is nothing like Buddens, not even the same type of artist. I understand why your going so hard against dude though, you ride for the disposable music label YM.

From what I can tell Joe Buddens is doing just fine. He has his solid fan base, is constantly traveling doing shows, is part of a very respected lyrical rap group and is only putting out album he wants and not what the label is forcing him to do like all these bubblegum rappers. So whats your point?

Well J Cole himself said he doesn't want to be that type of artist, make music and go unnoticed commercially. I wouldn't want a Joe Budden career either, dude is a niche rapper at this point imo.

I like Joe Buddens, aside from all the side show anthics which takes away from his music. But if you are just listening to his albums he has some quality songs out. And he is living real good. I'm not his biggest fan but every now and then he has some jams that really hit home. As far as career wise, he's eating and going about things his own way, can't hate on that. Same as Tech9, gotta respect those type of artist, they help keep integrity in the game.

First of all i dont hate dude. I think he is an ok rapper. Its just that when i see stans like you over hype cats make them out to be hotter/better than who they actually are. How is he not like Joe Budden though. i would consider them in the same lane. Tons of internet hype and praise, luke warm intro singles (Pump it Up vs Who dat), a legion of die hard stans who think everything they do is great. Seem to be similar artist to me. LMMFAO @ riding for YM...it aint even that serious dude. You the main one who try to compare Cole and Drake all the time. Need i remind you of that dumbass thread you made a couple weeks ago that made you look foolish?

How you gonna call anyone a stan when you do the same shit for Lil Wayne and YM, and i know you don't want to debate the consitentcy between J Cole and them YM niggas, because it aint close. Joe Budden is emo rapper, J Cole raps about everything (pussy, women, life, struggles, success, etc), his music is way more well rounded than Buddens. How was Pump it up a luke warm single, if memory serves me correct that single went gold and that song was a party track, Who Dat was a street track, who expected anything big from that. But i am sure you would rather J Cole, publicly kiss Jay-z ass every interview to get some fame like his counter part Drake. Like i have said numerous times, this shit is a marathon, not a sprint, Cole will be better off int he long run, fame is fleeting and those niggas who commercially successful now will be like them Crunk/Snap music niggas are in 5 years, irrelevant and no one checking for them. Where is Lil Jon, Franchise, Lil Scrappy, etc?

People are nuts when they drake gonna lose his fanbase. He's really not at that level any more, be real. But thats not the topic.... Yall both wrong right now. Cole has buzz, no doubt but its potentially commmercially viable. He hasn't doent anything on a commercial level yet, when he does then his buzz will be up there. At the same time, Cole's buzz is substantial, just not at that next level yet.

I have no idea what you're talking about. A party track vs a street track. They booth are the same types of songs. Both geared around the hook, as the most memorable part of the song. How is Cole's song a street single? I'm sure they were hoping it blew up and it didnt. So now its just a street single? GTFOH!! LOL @ Drake getting fame because of Jay Z..Yeah thats how he got hot...You the only one who brings up YM/Drake when it comes to Cole. I could care less and wouldnt even compare the two to be honest with you. They both in different lanes in my opinion. But everything you say Cole talks about, im sure Budden talks about as well. Matter of fact, 99% of rappers talk about the same things. Cole aint invent nothing new.

I agree with the bolded. But dude is making it seem like he on the same level as Kanye around CD, Wayne around C3, and Drake in 09. Thats just being way too delusional.

Come on dude, you're playing dumb. You really think bitches were in the club shaking their asses to Who Dat? Stop it fam.

Pump It Up was a party record that was expected to become a hit. "Who Dat" was an underground/street record that wasn't really expected to get ANY kind of airplay, yet it went Top 40 at urban radio
