And I believe its been 10 years almost since the discovery of the tape, Bumpy and Petey Pablo's analogy of Eminem being the rap "Elvis" IMO is dead on. Shit look at the impact that Eminem has had for his career, EVEN on BET!

I remember Eminem coming up from Rawkus back in the day and what he's done individually has been amazing, but I think what made Eminem very successful was his support...white support. Sorry to say but its evident, not saying black people didn't listen to Eminem and put notice to his skillz but at the time of his major success he was sort of a "white hero" to some kids out there because he was dominant in a rap culture that was indeed black dominated. Benzino went HARD on Eminem on the Source and I think that racist tape was finally something he got him on. It brought Em down a taste and I think that really killed his buzz in a way.

Was the rap tape real, I gotta find it but I believe it came in one of the Source issues. Apologizing to fans and people would seem forgiven but IMO I wouldn't give him a pass. I really never brought any of his albums anyway.

Yeah the rape is real. I might be wrong about this but i think there was a tape of him saying something similar too.

just shows u niggas will do anything for money.... Joe and I signed with that peckawood... hip hop lost for letting that shit slide...

Back in '02/'03 when this unfolded I felt different but now almost ten years later I kinda understand why these rappers supported Em. When you're an employee in a hostile envinronment you have to depend on forces you can't control. This goes for most so-called minorities in the corporate field and the entertainment industry. When you're dealing with responsebilities you're gonna have to let some stuff slide if you wanna sustain.

Ofcourse Em was wrong, but let's put this all in perspective. When he made those tapes he was around 16 getting bullied daily by these black kids. He made those tapes to vent I guess. That was something a punk would do, but with crazy white dudes doing these school shootings nowadays I'm kinda happy he just made those tapes in a basement somewhere.

IMO He didn't handle this thing like he should. He never formally apologized and I never believed that story about his 'black girlfriend' who he supposedly made that song for. If she was real she woulda surfaced by now and no'one cosigned that story.

Co-sign but that's because there is no black (comm)unity. If any entertainer says anything about Jews and they will make him apologize and possibly end or damage his career. Mel Gibson is the exception but he makes his own movies. Jews own Hollywood and large portions of the entertainment industry though and they stick together.

Say what you want about them but these gays will shut any entertainer down when he says anything they don't like about them or their lifestyle. They have lobby groups, unity and know the importance of pooling their money together.

Blacks don't have none of that. I hate to say it but blacks don't have a community like these Jews and even gays have.

Nobody was gonna do shit to him

if you hold Eminem accountable for some shit he said on a tape back in the early 90's then you need to hold ALL rappers accountable for the shit they say

I heard those tapes back in 03/04 I believe and I didn't hear him say anything worse that what black artists say in their songs

Wow a white boy said "nigger" so what, didn't they invent the word?

Only reason people make a big deal about it is because he ended becoming one of the biggest rappers in hip hop history

Ice Cube was callin white woman "cave bitches" back in the day on his songs, so what?

Smh all these gangstas, killers, don's, bosses and revolutionaries in the rap game and none of them has laid a finger on the white boy

I wonder why......

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhh lets get this guy.

*years later, nothing has been done*

I have to agree with this post.

It left the doors open for Kreayshawn and V-Nasty (even though their careers didn't lift off).

Expect more rappers/activists not to do anything and back peddle in the near future because somebody worse that Eminem will come along and make that shit blatant.

^^^^ Mad white boy post.

Hip Hop is a Black/Latino created culture that's why. Eminem is the only drop of milk that seeped through and got successful due to a BLACK co-sign (Dr. Dre) and a JEW (Jimmy Iovine).

Do your history on Caucasians and you'll see why Cube called them "cave bitches"...

While I see what you're trying to say I can't say I agree 100%. Like I said before if any entertainer says anything about Jews, gays or any other group these groups will attack that entertainer and no'one will complain and tell these groups how they should feel. Alot of times I feel these Jew and gay lobby groups are overreacting but you don't see me on Jew or gay sites telling them how they should handle perceived insults. When non-blacks say anything about blacks it's always people like you (no offence) saying we should "get over it".

I think people got mad because Em used this genre to get rich while he made those racist tapes and when found out he didn't come clean or apologize until he had no other choice.

lmao the cd came with the mag? benzino crazy

but yea jews and gays pretty much run the industry. eminem is prolly the only one that got away with the extreme gay bashing. how he did it? i don't know
