How is Redman's 2nd & 3rd LP not on the arguable list???? Thats crazy.....but on the flipside, at least they recognized Elzhi's The Preface.

Rap Genius Founders

They look like Silicon Valley millionaires who just discovered hip hop and want to look the part.

This why I dont take white folks opinions on hip hop serious. This is why Prodigy>Nas. I dont care about the 90s shit because like I said in that other thread thats what these pale bottomfeeders are currently attaching themselves to as johnny come lately "fans" of albums that we wore out 20 years ago. The shit I wont stand for is how they piss on the 80s. I dont give a fuck how many times they put beastie boys down no african american ever in the history of this planet has called any of their shit classic if you are a fan of beasties you are an all lives matter fuck nigga. White folk can pretend about the 90s all they want but barely any whites were listening to rap in 1980s. It wasnt mainstream. it wasnt cool. It was loud nigger music and ghetto music because of hard hitting loud beat and them screaming into mic.

Fuck the beastie boys. Im pissed because I dont see Fat Boys or Whodini on list. When gay ass beasties came out in 85-86 the fat boys and whodini were no doubt the most popular rap acts on earth. They were all on same plateau with Run DMC at that time. One Love was the fucking rap anthem of 86. One Love was a crossover club banger. They played One Love VH1 and adult contempary stations. If you say otherwise you wasnt either born or wasnt listening to rap. Fat Boys were making music with Beach Boys. EVERYBODY wanted to beat box like Buffy in 86. Everybody wanted to put double strings fat laces in shoes. If you had a Fat Boys tape and jambox you were a God to me back then. Do you know how hard they production and sound was at the time. Beastie boys never dropped any music to interrupt or elevate that in 86 or especially 1989. if im damn certain they wasnt making noise in 86. im for fucking certain they werent on the radar in 89. we talking about the same 89 right? Do yall know how much dope shit came out in 89 for some nigga to even think about the beasties. Fuck rap genius. Nas is fucked up for letting them drop a list with no fat boys mention. Late 70s-early 80s babies first steps into rap were listening to fat boys. my first hip hop movie was disordilies. Fat Boys were funny, silly charismatic and talented they rightfully won us young fans. Beastie Boys acted like typical white boys then always drinking beer and humping stuffed animals on stage. Fat Boys>Beastie Boys any day of week

Even though I kinda like the Beasties, I agree with you. Fat Boys and especially Whodini had shit on lock when they came out no doubt. I still don't get why Whodini don't get the props they deserve. Man they had a string of hits back then... I mean I was only about 7 when they were out so I didn't really know a whole lot about them but I knew they had some dope ass tracks. The Beasties were cool but they are slightly overrated. I mean they were destined to make it because they were on Def Jam, Run(and maybe DMC) was helping them write their raps, and they were getting laced with that 808's/rap/rock shit like Run DMC. I really do hate how these younger guys are trying to just forget about the history of hiphop... Picking all the safe pick albums from the 90's and shit. I'll add more later when I get back to the job lol.

Cosign. The Beasties were ok. I had License To Ill when it was out, and I'm Black. But yeah, The Fat Boys and Whodini were better.

I'd have to admit that as the Beasties career progressed they found their own sound and style and made some decent music. At least they didn't try to be Black.

Yeah man I do like the Beastie Boys but they ain't in my top 5 or nothing. Still bump License to ill sometimes. Anyway, why can't people just add whatever newer stuff to the list while giving props to the old school? I really don't have too much of a problem with a lot of that list outside of rappers that came out no more than 10 years ago having bonafide classics over guys who albums still get burn today. Tired of these rap mags or whatever with all these safe picks then they'll pull some decent album out they ass and make it like it was classic. Keep in mind that 1996 was 20 years ago and most of the albums that came out that years are still being talked about. We are damn near 30 years removed from arguable the greatest year in hiphop history musically(1988) If you throw Drake and them in the arguable classics list I'll be good with that lol.
