I think you misunderstood what this thread is or atleast I hope you did

Its the only song they made that got into the top 40. That technically makes them one hit wonders

What about bring the noise, welcome to the terrordome, Fight the power, 911 is a joke, dont believe the hype, public enemy #1, etc. Those songs are before I was born but im sure they were hits. Its just no way in hell one of the most popular hip hop groups are one hit wonders

Im not gonna let no bullshit ass article from denver change my opinion, they not one hit wonders. When someone says "one hit wonder" I think of an artist thats only known for one song, thats not the case for public enemy, fuck denver b

I know what @genocidecutter means.

Rap was an underground thing in the 80s., The only rap that got played on the radio was Salt N Pepa, MC Hammer and Run DMC. Otherwise you had to stay up late at night to hear it on the radio or tune in to Yo! MTV Raps or rap City to catch the videos. New York had Video Music Box.

Public Enemy had classic records and I'm pretty sure their albums went gold or platinum but their music didn't get played on the radio the way Drake, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj get played on the radio nowadays. Things were different.
