If I were to judge who was the best coach over the course of a season Id factor in intangibles like:
Win/Loss record (road record especially)(SOS)
T/O differential
Improvement from the previous season
Coaching through injuries and other adversities
...and overall being able to maximize the talents of your squad.
I think what makes Raheem a prime candidate is that he had first and second year players at almost all the skill positions (Q.B., R.B., W.R.) and they all excelled Blount ran for 1000 yards, Mike Williams is rookie of the year with 1000 receiving yards and Josh Freeman is in the top ten for Q.B. rating.
Their 17th ranked defense is neck-in-neck with the Atlanta Falcons defense.
I think as a team the Bucs exceeded all expectations especially in a division with ATL & N.O.!
This is easier when you suck the year b4 and get high draft picks. BB had to rebuild a defense, pick the players since he lost Scott pioli and then he doesnt even have official Coordinators on both sides of the ball....Morris just used what was handed to him....And he actually WON the division. Its a regular season award. Give it to the best coach of the regular season
