let me make a two-part ruling on this for you, at least as far as the forum is concerned:

01. hispanics shouldn't be saying that unless they're actually black, which most of them aren't;

02. your claim that you use it "in a nice way" is hereby deemed invalid

there was a time when it was more widely used: aside from the Philippines, you'd see it use for Native Americans, groups that would be consider white now (such as Indians/Pakistanis), and so on

but yeah, read contemporary accounts of the Philippine Insurrection and you'll see it used about 1000000 times
