When people talk about "sales" and then distinctly refer to "digital album downloads", what does it matter to the label? Does buying it off itunes mean the label gets less money than if you buy it from the store? I was always a bit confused about this.

i believe the labels and itunes where at war a few years ago, because the labels wanted to set the download prices higher and Itunes wanted to make it a fair price for the consumers. Itunes are esentially setting the market price i believe and the labels dont like it./

Ok so yeah the nigga yells alot and yeah he says nigga and he's from Palestine but honestly...how can anybody hate him? He doesn't diss people, he's always screaming about unity, always bringing a bunch of rappers who probably wouldn't work together for a song and has helped put on a few nice production teams...but yet I know some people who can't stand him...I'm not saying he's a legend in the making or nothing like that but he sure knows how make a hit record...

Neither one is more important than the other..... I only listen to what in my opinion is good hip hop... and to me good hip hop consists of beats that take on a life of their own when coupled with an artists lyrics..... both are a necessity for me to even finish listening to a track.... everything else to me is an incomplete product and has no replay value to me.... this is the problem with people today they do not demand excellence out of their music..... as long as it booms in the trunk and the bitches dance to it they dont give a fuck..... music is supposed to be an artform.... spoken word/poetry is supposed to be an artform.... when a RAPPER just says any stupid thing on a track it loses artistic integrity..... street cred is more important to a lot of people... i dont want the artists i listen to to be a gang banger/ drug dealer/ etc; i want them to be passionate about making music, making a piece of art...

truth be told, i see 10 years from now mainstream hip-hop is gonna be strictly instrumentals. producers is winning right now. dont think it cant happen, the game is unforgivin.

yea i dont think that instrumental music will ever be the mainstream on the radio type of music... i enjoy instrumental jazz and rock but hip hop is only a loop.... it would be like listening to a slowed down version of techno.
besides the majority of listeners are not musicians and are casual music fans so they want something they can sing along to
