how could i expect people to believe in me when i made it extremely likely for them to not find out anything about me? with no guidance in such a short lifetime, it would be ridiculous for me to punish them for eternity.

Man knows that God exists yet they deny Him because of our sin nature and rebellious hearts. Yet God in His mercy and grace still gives us a planet to live on, air to breathe, food to eat, shelter, clothing, etc.
The analogy fits because we are all the children of God. Yet we disrespect Him by denying Him even though He daily showers us with benefits and blessings. It's equivalent to a child spitting in a parents face daily even though you provide him/her with all their needs.

This perception of god comes from people who believed it was okay to stone your heathen asshole children to death. Their level of understanding was limited, their sphere of perception of the world around them was narrow. It's really not surprising this is how they perceived god would react to non-believers.

The scripture you just posted, honestly is saying god is nothing more than energy. Energy created us, the universe, the sky, everything you know comes from energy. When you die you become void of energy (hence your "spirit" leaving.) So go find a new part to post because all that says to me is that energy is the great creator, and energy doesnt have its own mind so therefore the biblical version of god is still wrong as they label him with a working thinking mind.
