How did I repeat what you said? I'm using what you said against your strange logic.

Free will

We certainly do have free will. The people who will use free will to "end the world", "commit mass murders" and "do it for THEIR God" follow the WRONG GOD. IN the CHRISTIAN bible where do you see God allowing people or asking people to go about killing people? Most, actually, about 99% of Christians wouldn't do anything like what you're stating. Only the INSANE, the MENTALLY UNSTABLE people would. I cannot remember any of these retarded names but I've seen them on tv plenty of times. Documentaries where they sleep with tons of women, sleep with the young, wedding them. I've seen the ones where they all took a poison at the same time to "die and go to heaven" because their "messiah" told them to.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

These are the people YOU are talking about, not the one's in MY bible. I've never been asked or have I seen it. WAIT! I have, Abraham was asked. Asked to kill his own son for God. It was a test of faith, God STOPPED HIM from doing so. So if these other people do it upon THEIR faith, why hasn't God STOPPED THEM? Stopped them and said, your faith is strong in me, don't do it now? Because........ they're insane/following the WRONG God, a RELIGION MADE BY MAN not no God.

I still fail to see how I repeated you though.

My bad if I read it wrong but there were parts where you seem to have agreed with me. Now if someone does nothing to correct global warming because they feel god will do it, thats an issue and its not considered a sin in the bible yet god wont do anything to stop it men will have to control it. So take for example I am an athiest, but other than not believing in this god have done nothing wrong and have helped people to better themselves, I will go to hell automatically, now someone who goes and murders and finds god is forgiven, yet the new testament states all sins are forgiven so why would i still go to hell for looking for truth rather than a scapegoat. Mind you the old testament states not everyone is forgiven theirfor showing God once again contradicting his writings. And what makes their religion the wrong one, all three are based off magic men in the sky and are all accompanied by books, so why is theirs any more wrong then yours.

You being an athiest and just searching has nothing wrong with it in MY eyes. You're doing more than most, searching. But in God's eyes you are not accepting the truth. The truth is Christianity. In which is the only one to have a trinity. Which is what makes it the right one. Our God, who sent his Son to die for us.

Now, its your free will that decides to believe or not. You will be automatically thrown to hell if you cannot accept those facts and follow those rules, follow God. How could you not be damned to hell? If you just search and not FIND, then why go to heaven? (you have not found the grace of God, the truth of God) But for the one who commits murder and FINDS (is forgiven, accepts, understands etc) will go to heaven, because of that, he FOUND and BELIEVED. Which is not what you are doing or did.

And as for GW, there's no stopping it now but just slowing it down. It's not just people who believe in God, it's everyone on this planet. Yell at Japan for the bullshit they put in our atmosphere as well. GW has and always has been a life long process, our technology has just sped the shit up quick status. A few hundred hybrids on the road will do next to nothing on our roads. Make everything hybrid, make everything solar etc etc. It's our government who allows this, they are the ones who can make the change for our states by passing laws and bills. Until then everyone will run around wasting and polluting because no one cares. The few that do cannot do anything to change it. AND if it's happening the way its happening, I hate to say it but, pretty much, "it's God's plan".

He still killed though, and through my searching Ive found so many flaws and inconsitencies within the bible and religion I have trouble accepting it, I dont see the sense in being in a group who doesnt accept science. Theres no physical proof Jesus was gods son other than a book, which was written by people who didnt know jesus personally. Look at the thread of free will also If you believe the bible then it is contradicting and free will wouldnt be possible.

TBH, I'm still searching too. But out of anything/everything I believe the Christian bible the most. I'm still figuring out why he contradicting his own Commandment. As for the book not accepting science? It's more so the readers who don't. They want to believe the bible to the core and there's nothing wrong with that, but if HISTORY can correlate with the bible so can science. (at least in my eyes; evolution to an extent! scientific explanations as such to the plagues etc)

Yea I agree with you the bible does contain some things that can be proved but those things dont neccasarily mean they are the devine, jesus did exist this is fact, however it is not proven he did anything extra ordinary. I was a devout Christian until I was 14 and in my searching I honestly have found the proof disturbing. As for how you have an open mind you would be considered a sinner and would go to hell, acual believers point to verses stating any questioning is a smite against god. For instance on the science thing the bible speaks about earth being created in 6 days and only being about 10k years old, where scientist have proven it to be older as well as humans predating the 10k mark. If the bible is gods word then there should be no way of this happening none. Im not trying to sway you please search and make your own assumptions but these are things that have really changed how I looked at what I viewed as the word to live by,

My point is that those who are athiest are 9/10 times doing more to help man rather than destroy it as just about every religious person is. Without religion we'd still kill yes, money would be the new evil, but there would alot less of it and Wars will become almost non existant. 96% of all wars happen based on religious beliefs. This being thoughts of 70 virgins, the dispute over land, personal agenda, Hitler for example didnt kill because he felt like killing, he killed because he was taught through religion that Jews were evil and a threat to the Aryan race. The Iraq war, Vietnam War, and Desert storm are the only true wars I can think of not based off religion.

What does percentages have to do with anything? Murder is just as bad if only 1 percent of Atheists do it and 99 percent of religious people do it. I would not be wondering as I'm about to have my life taken away..."Man, I hope this person is not religious. I can breath a lot easier if it's an atheist doing it". And what about the religious people that do help in society? They beat the odds somehow.

Really theres not a difference between 1% and 99%, so in your case the 999 murders are no different than just 1? Yes each life force is equal and no one is more important than the next but I think the world would be better off without religion destroying masses of people compared to anything else. Im making a point people act as if athiests are devil worshippers who are hell bent on creating a NWO and destroying man when thats is as far from the truth possible it is in fact religion who is destroying masses of people for no reason. Yes there are Christians and other religious people who do help contribute to society but our biggest contributions are through science and western medicine which if you take the bible literally as the word of god means you are sinning and then you really arent as religious as you think and your contradicting the word of god. True followers of the bible dont believe in scientific reasoning so they basically are no help to advance civilization.

You would have to be because everyone's view on compassion is different. Some people are thankful for the sufferings in life. Some people think that losing all they have is the greatest form of compassion they could ever have shown to them. What about those people? And then there are those who feel that having it all; not seeing a hard day in their life is the worst thing that has happened to them.

What about those people? Regardless of what does or does not make them happy, they are irrelevant to this discussion because they do not endure real suffering; an event or condition is not suffering if it is not unpleasant for the person experiencing it. Do you think anyone is thankful for becoming a quadriplegic after a car accident? Or for having their pre-teen daughter raped and murdered? Or, for that matter, do you think animals enjoyed being sacrificed? Some forms of suffering are subjective, others are universal. And the fact that anything at all suffers in the world means that there can be no omnipotent, compassionate god.

This makes it seem as if we have a choice on how we die. A dead person is not going...I hate that I died, but at least it wasn't under a religious regime. And what's going to happen if religion is done away with? What will become the next "number one" danger.

I believe science is important and good. But it is not the ultimate good. It can't explain everything and it doesn't need to explain everything. However people do feel that way and treat science more as a religion. Science is shaping worldviews and beliefs.

(Judg 1:19 NRSV) The LORD was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain, because they had chariots of iron.

So if I had an iron chariot I could possible be a force against the bible god?

Wow, they had tanks back then. That's crazy, just like the hieroglyphs of the helicopter and planes etc...

God knows the future so we really dont have a choice of how we die, even if we wake up n jump off a cliff god knew it already so it was planned. If god does exist no we dont have a choice, if he doesnt we have the choice to an extent because we are acting on real free will, either way your gonna die eventually so that dont matter. Now the next major killer after religion would be money, property and land are big but those I believe will be just about gone with no religion because most of the land wars are because groups think the land is where their god was. People will always be killed but without religion that amount will drop by very large numbers. People even out of war act upon murder believing they are doing gods job.

Ok but the stuff that science has explained has gone against just about everything the bible claims on the creation front. And yes I feel as if science should try to explain everything because thats what shapes the world around us, they may find something researching some boo boo stuff that can change the world. And science shaping worldviews and beliefs is a GOOD THING, it proves these books wrong and its better to believe in the truth then live in a fantasy world. If we one day predict the planet is going to end by a pre set time and we have the capabilities to inhabit another planet then im sorry scientist won while gods people will stay on Earth because they believe Jesus will come through the clouds and pick them. The people who wrote these books thought the world was flat, we were the only planet in the solar system, didnt know of other continents in the western world, thought stars were dead people, participated in incest to retain only family in royal bloodlines, killed scientist and banned it for about 1000 years. They knew when the books were made people searching for truth could discredit them thats why they hated scientist so much.

How do you know what real suffering is? How do you know for sure that everyone who "suffers" is in defiance of God. I have heard of at least one person who is thankful for her paralysis. I know at least one family that had lost their baby daughter to her being accidentally ran over and did not see reason to go away from God. The world is a big place. You have to know what is considered "suffering" to them.

Some believe the chariots of iron, bars of brass, and gates of steel references were in regards to people's mind: the hard headed and stubborn minds.

It doesn't matter whether the sufferer rejects God or not, and I don't have to know what "suffering" entails for each and every person in the world. As long as anyone suffers, even if it's one person, God is a sadist, because it is entirely up to him whether or not suffering exists. There are people who can deal with the death of a child, and then there are people who never recover, spending the rest of their lives in a state of deep depression and emotional torment. If even one person has to endure that, God is not truly compassionate.

I believe the faithful interpret this quote differently. The 'he' in the second clause refers to Judah. God was with him against the hill country and he was victorious. But was not with him against the people of the plains. Of course that does not make sense the bible clearly states the cause as 'chariots of iron'. If it was God withdrawing his support why not say that?

http://www.chariotsofiron.com/

The above is a nice atheist web site for anyone interested.

Alot of people believe that it was a metaphor for the hard headed but even then god knows the future so if he knew they werent gonna leave why bother. Better yet if he can do everything why wouldnt he just make them change their mind.

Really, the Afgan war, world war 2, world war 1, the wars over Isreal and the Gaza Strip, the mass slaughtering of the Templars after they were created by Christians to go to war and recapture Solomons temple. I could bring up thousands of wars cause solely by religion itself and only religion. I dont understand how people fighting for which land they believe god was would still happen there would be no reason or thought of it. Hitler would not slaughtered and imprisoned the Jews without his religion, The towers would have never been blown up hence us not bothering Afghanistan, you could argue that Iraq was brought forth as a result of this as well. Your mind is just trained by preachers and the media to only see Islam as this evil religion when in fact your religion is just as evil.
