his purpose fro each individual is different. I dont have that answer

That is their purpose, I asked what god's will is because you said it so plainly like you knew what it was.

And if you're going to tell people they should live within god's will, you should at least be able to tell them what that will is no?

Did you miss the words where it says.... THE LORD REQUIRE OF THEE?

That says no-thing about GOD'S WILL.

So if your mom tells you that you are to study every night, would her will not be because she wants you to do well in school? I mean a little common sense goes a long ways. Really it does.

You have trapped me in a game of word play Imgoingtoheaven. You have attached WILL to require. And to further confuse things you add in a mother and child scenario.

To require something of someone does not mean that that is your will.

It was by god's will that I was an atheist. It was by god's will that my eyes were opened. It was by god's will that the earth was flooded. It was by god's will the universe was created. It is by god's will that everything is. God's will is not the commandments, it's not the requirements. God's will appears to be some sort of force or power by which everything is able to be accomplished. So to muddle it together as you(DoUwant2go2Heaven) have done is misleading and takes out the common sense of it.

im not "imgoing2heavenru". my old sn is ike turner. but anyway, idk where you got the idea that God wants you to be an atheist. Scripture says otherwise. But you've made up your mind so....

It's not word play. It's called understanding. "For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:6).

It's Gods will that no one should perish, but that all of mankind would be saved.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

Now if that is Gods will, why is it that many, many, many, many people will perish? Well it's because Gods will doesn't interfere with humans personal decisions regarding salvation.

It's the same with the analogy I gave earlier. If a mothers will is for her son/daughter to do well in school, she will tell her child to study everyday in order to do well.

God has told us His will and given us the requirements for walking in His will. Now if we reject the way God has laid before us, is it Gods fault for our willful rejection of His requirements?

I take it to mean that you give to the government what is theirs and give to God what is His. Sure if the government compromises the faith, then we would have to express that, but it doesn't give Christians an excuse to rebel against the government and build a "Christian" society or nation.

outside of the bible claiming it....

The Bible itself. Look at these videos. The Bible is indestructible. Mankind has tried to destroy it for centuries, but God has protected His eternal world throughout the ages. You can't fight God and win. It's futile.

C'mon son. There are plenty religious text older than the Bible. The Vedas were written around 1500 BC. By comparison, the oldest records that support any biblical event start around 850 BC. The written Bible didn't occur until around 4th century, when Israel went captive to the Persians. It should come as no surprise then that many of the Biblical stories are eerily similar (almost verbatim in some case) to ancient Persian religions..in particular Zoroastrianism. Before this time, there is no recorded biblical reference to God and the Devil, the fallen angles, Noah, or anything else.

Now, I know the counter arguments claim that the Bible is older and that just because it was recorded in the 4th or 5th century doesn't mean that it began then. According to the counterarguments, before that time, the Bible was passed down via oral tradition with the training of the priest. That for 1000 thousand years, the history of the Bible was passed down faithfully from one generation to the next.

I understand the argument, it just doesn't persuade me. There are plenty of gaps and holes in the story that are more easily explained that disprove the time-line of the bible than having to believe that the Bible was passed on for 1000 years. I will concede that some tradition was passed on, but not the books of the Bible.

Here is the issue:

We have a text (The Bible) that was written by men who claim that either God told them to write it or they witnessed 'God' do certain things.

This is not the only text in which men have made these claims. The question then becomes, how do we judge this text and any other text and determine if it is true? None of us want to be wrong, so it is in our best interest to make sure that we are right.

In order to determine if something is true, we must look at the evidence and use our reason and intellect to decide if it is convincing. Reason and intellect being the highest of human qualities; if there is a God, he would expect nothing less of us.

In looking at the evidence we can break it into two categories:

1. Is it objectively provable? Does the external evidence support the accounts written in the text? Just because we can prove one thing does not mean that the whole thing is true. Example; There is evidence that the Isrealites were in captivity in Egypt. Does that mean the seven plauges happened? No. There is also evidence that while the Isrealites were in captivity in Egypt, only one tribe was actually held. Do we discount this evidence for the sake of consistency with the rest of the Bible? Again, the answer is no.

When the objective evidence shows a pattern of large gaps or impossibilites, it throws into question the entire document.

2. Is the text internally consistent? This means, can we reconcile what it says in one book of the Bible with another book? Again, we must rely on reason and intellect. Many scholars for centuries have noted the many contradictions in the Bible and have found ways to provide explanations for them. This is the basis of Theology. Theology provides a logical basis religious works.

The most consistent and sound thelogical framework for the Bible is Catholocisim. It has been developed for almost 2,000 years with people finding inconsistencies and providing 'reasonable' explanations for them. The problems with Catholicism is that the understanding of the Bible for almost 1500 years was exclusvively a job of the priest. It was thought that that if the common man, without the requisite training, were to simply pick up the Bible and provide his own explenations, the consequences would be that of a religion that was beyond belief.

Unfortunately, in part the Cathololic Church was right. While it is hard enough to swallow the theology of Catholicism, what has developed in the wake of Martin Luther, is a wide range of Protestant beliefs that are nothing less than incredible. What has gone on in Black churches in particular is so mind numbingly ridiculous, one wonders how on earth can anyone believe it. But here is where the Catholoic church was wrong. Regardless of how perposterous the theology is, if one is exposed to 'theology' under the right conditions, one will believe just about anything. I won't go into why this is so, but suffice it to say, it is the reason new denominations sprout up all the time.

Ultimately, the Bible fails to add up both in external or objective confirmation and in internally consistency. No amount of scripture quoting can pull you out of that box. The Bible is made 100x worse by individuals who pick it up and use it condemn others or to make themselves self important. While there are many 'truths' in the Bible, it unfortnately has been used for centuries to subjugate and enslaves millions of people.
