Where'd you get that information? Not saying it's incorrect, just sounds kinda fishy to me. If I were a betting man, I'd say that the cast majority of UC's do not have a limitation on the amount of Asians admitted.

i don't think they've made it an official policy, but i know they've been tryna get the asian population down for a minute

Yeah, your thread is kinda misleading. At no point in that article did they say that they are trying to limit the number os Asians they are accepting. The policy doesn't even mention Asians. The policy is just being changed to include more potential candidates. Under the new rules, it isn't just your grades and your ACT/SAT score that will determine if you get in. It's actually a great move, in my opinion. Since the smartest kids in school are rarely the ones with the highest grades. The only reason the Asian population is in an uproar is because it goes against everything they have been taught by their parents - who likely are the first generation of their family to live in the U.S. - 'Get the highest grades on school and on your ACT or SAT, do tons of community service and you will be guaranteed to get into a good school.'

i made the thread mostly out of what i heard/read/saw in the past. i literally just found that article today. i know they aren't systematically trying to get rid of asian people, but if you asian, you sure ain't getting into berkeley, or with with a 3.5 just based on the fact that they get a million applications just like yours.
