From Trick Trick interview with The Situation:

Trick Trick’s relationship with the media has not always been smooth. Recent reports of a beef with D-Block have been doing the rounds, so The Situation gave Trick his chance to put things straight. “No I don’t have beef with D-Block. I had some misunderstandings with Styles P and some members of his entourage. It got out of hand and he disrespected the city of Detroit and Detroit is a city of low tolerance.” He continued: “Styles P shouted out ‘f*** y’all Detroit, D-Block and his b****’ so Detroit decided to whoop his ass. DB and me were trying to calm the situation down but it came out that me and him had a beef or a problem. I don’t have a problem with that man unless he has a problem with me. I don’t want to go to war with nobody,” he sustained, “but if I am going to war, I’m taking them to war. I ain’t playing no rap albums back and forth.”

Nas never aligned himself with anyone. Because Nas did the song "The Pledge" with Ja, and since 50 came into the rap game under the Queensbridge group headed by Nas, 50 felt betrayed by Nas.

Nas responsed with "Don't Body Yourself", which was more of a warning shot to 50, if anything else:

"And the streets wonder why I ain't gotta answer, niggas/It's cause I truly understand these niggas/Scared of me, so they call out family members/Like I can't point out 'cha grandmom to niggas/Damn, you was my man like crew, dawg/Don't make me change ya body frame to blue fog...."

The streets was waiting for that "Ether 2" record, too.

BUT.....50 never did say anything back to Nas, at least on wax. He said some slick shit in a few interviews on radio and magazines, but I think he took the hint.

50 never said anything back to Nas on wax? Was "Window Shopper" not after "Don't Body Yourself"?

50 vs Nas?

50 dissed Nas and Kelis out of nowhere on Piggy Bank. I assume 50 was just trolling trying to drum up beef to promote the Massacre but was there more to this beef? Did Nas respond?

Nas aligned himself with Murder Inc.

It wasn't because of this. Tho' 50 felt slighted by being replaced by Nas on the J Lo joint, because he was still signed to Trackmasters/Columbia, & him Nas & them were all still cool. The song was actually a REMIX, and they were releasing that version instead of the 50 version as the single.

Nas "aligning" himself with Murder Inc was also not the reason they had "beef". Both happened in 2002, before 50 even got his Shady/Aftermath deal.

The reason they had "beef" was because Jungle dissed 50 on "Bravehearted" & then Nas had the free Central Park concert (I believe 2004/05). While on stage he said "This is that REAL Hip Hop shit. Not that 50 Cent Shit". Word, or video got back to 50 & he included Nas/Kelis in Piggy Bank. Nas made Don't Body Yaself, & took a shot on "Queens Get The Money". 50 took shots here & there.

Crazy to think about all the beefs that ended up getting resolved:

50/Nas, Fat Joe, Lox, Wayne, TI

Obviously Jay/Nas

Who am I forgetting?

Well 40 year old men look pretty stupid beefing over who's the best MC. I mean seriously, how long can you hold a grudge over a rap beef?

Cube/Cypress - Supposedly the Eses were on standby ready to ride for Cypress.

Nas/Cam'Ron - Long overdue. Don't know the status of Nas/Jim Jones tho'.

Fat Joe/Remy Ma - She's in talks of working with Khaled, & has no ill feelings for Joe. It's likely that Papoose is over the beef too.

Papoose/Uncle Murda - Been squashed a while, but there was potential for something ugly.

Maino/Lil' Cease - They not cool, but they cool.

I don't know we're I saw that interview but I do remember 50 basically telling the world that preme was using murder inc to wash his dirty money & all them niggas was being extorted by him. It seemed like almost a few minutes later murder Inc office's was being raided by the feds. To keep it real 50 knew none of that was true & knew what he was doing. Nobody went to jail because it was all bullshit I think preme was already in jail. 50 just wanted to make sure them niggas was dead. That was just 50 cent being 50 cent.

rather doo doo known he was dry snitchin or not he will always b rockin that snitch jacket n the streets....

I think Don't Body Yourself was before Window Shopper for sure...

50 knew not to fully go in on Nas because he was gonna serve 50 that Ether 2 real quick

I see no connection between a 50 Cent/Nas beef & Window Shopper. 50 ain't the subliminal type, so Nas name (or whoever he's beefing with) would appear in the verse. I already explained how/why their "beef" started.
