People with no empathy.

I can feel it completely. I try to put myself in other people's shoes all of the times to try to figure out how they would view life and perceive things. It can be viewed as *wrong* but, it is a great way to manipulate situations to your advantage.

With that said, just because I can entertain and perceive (what I believe is) their point of view that doesn't mean I will allow myself to be led by those thoughts/feelings and choose to empathize, cater to them, or change my actions based on how I believe they feel about shit.

It's going to sound fucked up, but I do turn shit on and turn shit off and without that ability, I would have never gotten as far in life as I have. So now, that shit is just a part of me. If I commit to something positive or some foul negative shit, well I fully commit to it and follow it through. Even put my own feelings to the side to do what I choose or need to do.

Life ain't fair, and I'm not about to play this game based on rules that don't exist.

Some of you are still confusing empathy with sympathy, regardless, any true emotion is involuntary; you can't turn it on and off like a switch. The only thing you may be able control is how you show it.

Only psychopaths are the only ones who cannot empathize, that part of the brain isn't operational.

So you either a psychopath or you are just lying.

I empathize when it's something that I have experience in or something that I invest my emotions in. I can empathize with the guys who want to put those awesome Coli gifs on here, but those who don't I can't. Get my example young nignogs?

People who only show empathy to a select group of people are more worrisome since they are more in number, and when it comes to people not apart of that select group, their opinion is probably similar to that of a psychopath.

I'm more on the side it's nurture, though I can see why it looks like nature because having a sociopathic parent(s) would suck ass.

Socipaths = Nuture, intense trauma at an early age and low socializing.

Psychopaths = Nature, might be hereditary, brain is process enough to understand fear, anxiety, empathy, etc.

The thing that separates sociopaths from psychopaths(tho psychology is less inclined to make a distinction anymore) is that not all sociopaths commit murder, whereas all psychopaths have or will. If we want to say nurture, then I will only agree it began in the womb and thus gives the appearance of nature.

Correct me if I am wrong, I very well could be. But I believed empathy was the act of putting yourself in someone else's shoes and attempt to see life from their point of view in situations (good or bad). There's no true emotion behind this act in itself.

Sympathy is the emotional response (trigger) innate that is provoked from that.

Meaning if you saw someone drowning, you may empathize with them and say "damn, their drowning, they must be in total fear, it would suck to die like that, damn, they're going to die, if that was me I wish someone would help me, damn"

On the other hand the actual response provoked/triggered from that is up to you and your personality.

Your initial response could range from:

"Oh sh**, I'm going to jump in and save them"

to

"Oh sh**, I'm going to jump in and save them......well no I'm not getting all dirty, what if I gotta do mouth to mouth...f**k that. Sorry you ain't family and well...I don't know you"

to

"Oh sh**, I'm going to........call EMS 911. They can help"

to

"Man, that's fu**ed up, glad it ain't me"

to

"Oh sh**, I'm going to pull out my phone and WOOOORLDSTAAR!!"

Then I would define them as sociopaths because they are as ruthless as a psychopath, but don't actually murder.

Psychopaths don't have to murder, it is how their brain works. They are usually void of empathy, doesn't mean they will kill.

A sociopath is a Bernie Madoff and a Psychopath would be Al dunlap

lmao @ someone recording a drowning victim, and yelling out, "Worldstar", while that nigga going under.

back to topic:

this girl's grandmother is sick and prolly wont make it in the long run. girl been whinin about it every day, so at some point i told her sorry, i cant feel your pain, i never had grand parents and even if i did, people die when they get old, it's not like it catches you off guard.

besides that her grandmother has stated she doesnt wanna suffer anymore, so i said let that ole lady go, she has paid her dues...

so it depends on the situation for me, in this case i couldnt if it would have been her sibling or child, i could definitely empathise.

Guess I'm gonna have to go study some more.

i have always been desensitized to giving a fuck. The most heart-wrenching tragic events have nil effect on me.

i recognize empathy... just never gave a shit about practicing it.. i have to fake that shit.. i act like i give a fuck about what the next person is going thru, but i dont

might sound crazy to some... but i genuinly feel that this is how others feel towards me as well.. its just in human nature to ACT we do. just my 2 cents

When I start agreeing with KAT something's wrong. I shoulda stayed my ass in the islands if I was gonna come back to the gotdamn twilight zone.

EDIT:

Almost forgot...Shut UP Kat...

Ive always been the type to have empathy for people I actually like. But thats like 4 people on the planet. The rest I feel no way about really. I can say, "sad but...MEH." Most the time. Im like that with myself too. I "feel" then get over shit rather quickly.
