He seems to be a real dude. He makes good music. I listen to a lot of it.

But in terms of this thread, he's from SoCal (Southern Cali).....everyone discussed in this thread in from NorCal (Northern Cali). ~500 miles away.

The overwhelming majority of the threads on the reason focus on pop culture artist when it comes to SoCal rappers like Kendrick, Snoop, NWA, Dogg Pound, Cube.......but ppl like Nipsey, Mitchy Slick, Schoolboy Q, etc, get a lot of love off the IC.

detroit rappers get a lot of love out here. dej loaf broke bigger in the bay than she did in detroit. they was on her hard out here before the rest of the country. kash doll came to a club in downtown oakland a while back and it was a line around the corner at 10pm, this was way before the rest of the country got on her. molly brazy and a few other detroit ratchet chicks got strong followings out here

pablo skywalkin got a strong base out here. the biggest indie dudes out here philthy and cookie money, do a lot with detroit rappers. it's all love, detroit rappers get superstar treatment out here

detroit rappers get more love out here than kansas city rappers and that used to be strong market for the bay and vice versa

he a LA dude, that's a whole different lane. people forget how big california is. northern california and southern california might as well be two different states. LA don't really fuck with nothing in cali that's outside of los angeles.

northern cali like nip and he do shows occasionally up this way, but they don't fuck with him like los angeles do. in los angeles he's that dude, in the north, he 'cool'. philthy rich is major up here. he gets no burn really in los angeles. very different tastes in the two regions.

in northern cali (bay, sac) a rapper can come up through the streets and build a solid as base, move units do paid shows and eat and then branch to seattle, missouri and other a few other states and live good.

a los angeles rapper gotta have the radio and a cosign. nipsey first came he had a major label deal, snoop in the video. he jumped out indie later and kept it going, but if he ain't had that industry co sign to get going, los angeles wouldn't have opened up for him.
