I cant understand why wade and LeBron would want to go to a city that has so many championships already. it would mean so much more if it happened in cleveland. start their own legacy.

Man fatally shot at home in Lawndale

A 28-year-old man found shot in the West Side's Lawndale neighborhood late Friday has died, officials said.


Walter Lampeley, of the 2400 block of West Taylor Street, was shot at the same address and pronounced dead at 12:56 a.m. this morning at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

About midnight Friday, Lampeley was fighting another person when a vehicle pulled up, suspects exited and shots were fired at him, police said.

Lampeley suffered a gunshot wound to his neck, police said. The suspects fled the scene and no one was in custody.

Once the projects came down all those people spreaded across the city, but on another note this has been happening in every city around the country so i dont know why Chicago gets all the headlines

1 dead, at least 9 injured in overnight violence

A man is dead and at least nine people were injured in separate violent city-wide incidents late Saturday and early this morning, officials said.

About 1 a.m. in the Stony Island Park neighborhood, a 22-year-old man was discovered shot in a backyard in the 8400 block of South Cregier Avenue, Chicago Police Officer Amima Greer, a police spokeswoman. said. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Greer said, but the man later succumbed to his injuries.

The man, identified as Paul Garrette, of the 8600 block of South Dante Avenue, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:59 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

In other incidents, a male victim was critically injured when he was stabbed in the abdomen about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of South Harding Avenue in the West Side's Lawndale neighborhood, Greer said. It was not immediately known to which hospital he was taken.

At 11:50 p.m. in the South Austin neighborhood, an 18-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk with friends in the 5500 block of West Congress Parkway when a gunman approached and began firing shots, police said. The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken in serious condition to Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.

About 12:15 a.m. this morning in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, a 21-year-old man riding a scooter in the 8300 block of South St Louis Avenue was approached by a gunman and shot multiple times, police said. The victim was in critical condition at Advocate Christ.

At 1:45 a.m. in the South Side's South Chicago neighborhood, a 16-year-old boy suffered a graze wound above his eye in the 8300 block of South Colfax Avenue, police said. He was listed in "stable" condition at Advocate Christ. He was on the porch when an unidentified suspect approached on foot and fired shots at him.

At 1:50 a.m. a man was stabbed in the 7000 block of South Parnell Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.

In the South Shore neighborhood, a 39-year-old man was shot in the side of his body in the 7700 block of South Cornell Avenue about 2:40 a.m., police said. The man was taken in "stable" condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

About 3 a.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood, a 35-year-old woman was shot at a party in the 5800 block of South Damen Avenue. She suffered a gunshot wound to her arm and was listed in "stable" condition at Advocate Christ, police said.

About 10 minutes later in Englewood, a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 5800 block of South Lowe Avenue and taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.

A little after 4 a.m., a man was stabbed in the West Town neighborhood in the area of North Ashland Avenue and West Ontario Street. His condition was listed as "stable," police said.

As of early this morning, no one was in custody for any of the crimes.
