Get over it already you fucking pussies. People act crazy and assault/kill each other. In a city of almost 3 million, the victims of violent crimes are a statistically insignificant percent of the population. Many more people will have heart attacks or get into car accidents but you stupid pansies need to make a big deal about it. Go fuck yourselves.

Once the projects came down all those people spreaded across the city, but on another note this has been happening in every city around the country so i dont know why Chicago gets all the headlines

Coastal bias...they don't want to tarnish the image of the East Coast powerhouse and the West Coast powerhouse.....Chicago is next in line and it's in the middle of the country.

Just my theory

Obama is getting rid of all Public Housing in the US. Why do you think they're telling us to go to Africa?

Obama's Scheme to Kill Public Housing and Give the Land to Banks

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

June 5, 2010

http://uruknet.info/?p=m66703&hd=&size=1&l=e

"Obama would entrust the fates of millions of poor people to the tender mercies of the same criminal-minded class that has destroyed a generation and more of Black homeowners."

President Obama's greatest domestic imperative is the transfer of public wealth and resources to the private sector. He moved tens of trillions of dollars to Wall Street in the guise of rescuing the economy. Hundreds of billions in public funds are scheduled for transfer to private insurance corporations over the next decade or so, masquerading as a health care plan. His support for corporate-backed charter schools and other so-called public-private partnerships has dramatically escalated the privatization of education in the United States. Obama calls it a "Race to the Top." Now, the Obama administration is serving up to corporate vultures the nation's dwindling stock of public housing, with bankers as the ultimate beneficiaries.

Cops: Suspect who pointed gun at officers is shot
July 5, 2010 5:26 AM

A Chicago police officer shot a male suspect who pointed a gun at him and at least one other officer early this morning after they tried to disperse a large crowd in the street, police said.

A spokesman for Police News Affairs did not know the condition of the wounded person.

The shooting happened about 2:15 a.m. in the 100 block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side. In a statement, police said uniformed officers responded to a call of a disturbance at that location and found a large group gathered in the street.

While they attempted to disperse the crowd, the suspect displayed a handgun and fired a shot in the air. The original officers called for assistance, and officers chased the suspect down an alley where police said he turned and pointed his weapon at the officers.

One officer fired back, striking the suspect, who was arrested and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital. Police said they recovered a weapon at the scene.

The shooting is under investigation by the Independent Police Review Authority, but a spokesman had no further information.

There might be some coastal bias. I don't know why the media is hyping up the violence in Chicago when it was WAY WORSE in the 70s 80s and 90s. Chicago has always been the worst out of the big 3 CHI, LA, and NY. but wasn't getting media exposure now it is and they are blowing it out of proportion.
