It is funny that all of the questions you guys have about Masonry can be answered by just reading. All of these conspiracy theorist talk like Masonry is not like a frat. They just like a frat. As a frat membership goes, so goes the frat. Simple and plain. Masons are maybe the world oldest frat.

also they are like the christian church. fragmented! All these different types of masons. popping up out of nowhere. A Prince Hall mason may not be able to go to a Scottish rite mason lodge. In some cities that is cool. But some lodges allow somethings that is not allowed in others. Just like Christianity. Going to a baptist church in Charlotte if different from going to a Greek orthodox church in Israel.

It doesnt even work like that. You're misinterpreting what being a Prince Hall mason is vs what being a Scottish Rite mason is.

Prince Hall masonry encompasses all regular rites and bodies from the United Grand Lodge of England. The Scottish Rite is one of THOSE rites. You can become a Scottish Rite mason through Prince Hall masonry or "mainstream" masonry. But you dont skip the "craft" degrees (1-3) becoming a Scottish Rite mason.

The charter for the first lodge in Prince Hall lineage came FROM the UGLE back in the 1784. You're wrong.

After nearly two centuries of controversy, the Grand Lodge of England was asked to decide the matter of Prince Hall Masonic legitimacy. Carefully studying the records, the Grand Lodge of England concluded that the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Massachusetts was indeed entitled to Masonic recognition and this against the tradition that, per state, only one recognized Masonic body should exist. As a result, most (though not all) "mainstream" (i.e. predominantly white) Grand Lodges in the United States and elsewhere have extended full fraternal recognition to their Prince Hall counterparts.

So after 2 Centuries they acknowledged yall as real Masons. LOL but no they arent racist.

man, pain, you have a lot of patience brotha. If people are that interested in freemasonry, then educate yourselves on it. The information is out there. In any organization, you will not know every single thing that goes on if you are not a part of it, alot

comes with education, and the rest is understanding. With understanding, sometimes you cannot put that into words, you just

know.

Taken out of context. You obviously have NOT read the full passage to understand WHAT he is talking about. Let me break it down for you.

What he is ACTUALLY SAYING IS...

Lucifer the "light-bearer", what a strange name to give to the spirit of darkness.

As in its a mystery as to WHY someone would assign the title of LIGHT BEARER to a being of DARKNESS. To further understand what he is referring to, you would have to be versed in the knowledge of when/where/WHY the name Lucifer was given to Satan.

"Lucifer" is the Latin term originally used by the Romans to refer to the planet Venus when that planet was west of the sun and hence rose before the sun in the morning, thereby being the morning star.
The same planet was called Hesperus, Cesperugo, Vesper, Noctifer, or Nocturnus, when it appeared in the heavens after sunset. Although 19th and 20th century occultists would equate other goddesses such as Astarte, Ashtoreth, Lilith, Isis, Cemeramis, Mari, and Ishtar with Venus, links between the cultures and attributes represented are not historically clear. Lucifer as a personification is called a son of Astraeus and Aurora or Eos, of Cephalus and Aurora, or of Atlas. He is called the father of Ceyx, Daedalion, and of the Hesperides. Lucifer is also a surname of several goddesses of light, such as Artemis, Aurora, and Hecate

The word appears to have entered the religious lexicon when the Hebrew expression in Isaiah 14:12, "HeYLeL BeN-ShaCHaR." (meaning "bright son of the morning/dawn," "bright [and] morning star," "glowing morning star," or "shining one, son of the dawn.")2. was translated to "Phosphorus" (the Greek word for Venus as the morning star) in the Septuagint, and then translated into "Lucifer" in the Vulgate (from the Greek Septuagint). Isaiah 14, taken as a whole, is a parable, or prophecy of denunciation against the Kings of Babylon, specifically Tiglath-pileser III 3 In verse 12, the prophet characterizes the arrogance of Tiglath-pileser III as if the king had thought himself fit to appear in the sky as the morning star, but has fallen to earth, being brought low by the vengeance of the Lord against those who would exalt themselves and persecute the Lord’s people (i.e., the Israelites).

The name Lucifer was applied to Satan by St. Jerome and later to the demon of sinful pride by Milton in Paradise Lost. Lucifer is the title and principal character of the epic poem by the Dutch playwright, Vondel (who uses Lucifer in lieu of Satan), and a principal character in the mystery play by Imre Madach, "The Tragedy of Man". Blake pictured Lucifer in his illustrations to Dante. George Meredith’s sonnet Lucifer in Starlight addresses the "fiend" as Prince Lucifer. To Spenser in An Hymne of Heavenly Love, Lucifer is "the brightest angel, even the Child of Light." In Ovid’s Metamorphosis, Lucifer is the morning star and father of Ceyx. He is described as riding a white horse (clarus equo, book XV.189) and his face is characterized by a bright gladness (see XI.270 ff. Lucifero genitore satus patriumque nitorem ore ferens Ceyx). Also see Books II.115 and 723, IV.629,665.

He did say this at one point in his life. A couple of things to be understood about this situation. First, Pike is not the authority on all things of masonic nature. His book is not some Masonic "bible" as you once put it. Finally, Pike changed his views on black people later toward's the end of his life. He was still a bigot and a racist for much of his life though. Here is the FULL quote.

The status of Negro Masonry in this country was perhaps never better defined than it was by Albert Pike in 1875, when he said, "Prince Hall Lodge was as regular a Lodge as any Lodge created by competent authority. It had a perfect right to establish other Lodges and make itself a Mother Lodge. I am not inclined to meddle in the matter. I took my obligations from white men, not from negroes. When I have to accept negroes as brothers or leave masonry, I shall leave it. Better let the thing drift."14
Note that the Supreme Grand Commander of the United Supreme Council (Sept. 14, 1887 - d. Oct. 18, 1904), Southern Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliation, Thornton A. Jackson, was a personal friend of Albert Pike’s. Pike presented Jackson with a complete set of his rituals for use by the Prince Hall Scottish Rite.15

Here is what he said about black people and slavery... HMMM... try not to stop at the information that only looks good to you NEXT time you "research".

I am not one of those who believe slavery a blessing. I know it is an evil, as great cities are an evil; as the concentration of capitol in a few hands, oppressing labor, is an evil; as the utter annihilation of free-will and individuality in the army and navy is an evil; as in this world everything is mixed of good and evil. Such is the rule of God’s providence, and the affairs of the world. Nor do I deny the abuses of slavery.****Necessarily it gives power that may be abused. Nor will I under-rate its abuses. It involves frequent separation of families. It, here and there, prevents the development of a mind and intellect*****. Marriage does not create an indissoluble bond among the slaves. It gives occasion to prostitution. The slave toils all his life for mere clothing, shelter and food; and the last is heard sometimes upon the plantations, and in rare cases, cruelties punishable by the law are practiced

You obviously cannot read. 2 centuries of CONTROVERSY. Not non-recognition. The controversy comes from the record keeping that occurred when African lodge #1's name was changed due to a re-numbering of lodges FROM the UGLE. There was a lapse in fees paid to the UGLE and that was the source of the controversy. NEVER has the issue been whether or not Prince Hall masonry has been acknowledged. You're trying to figure out the problem by looking in the back of the book and ignoring the steps of the solution. You're just wrong.

The other problem is people who become stuck in their belief and refuse to see things any other way. But much respect, ive learned some things I did not know about before.

In typical form. You are taking half quotes out of context, but I'm twisting them? Yea, move along you are not ready to have a grown up discussion.
