Its more to just lifting weights my dude...your diet plays a big part in it also getting some rest.Lol@you being 20 and just now going to the gym, well thats one of the problems right there. If you trying to get fit you have to dedicate yourself to doing so,you cant just go lift some weights then think well i lifted 80/100 lbs now the muscle will come...if you're that unsure you just need to get you a fitness trainer.

Here's my routine.

Week 1

Monday:

Chest and triceps

Tuesday:

Back and biceps

Wednesday:

Legs and stomach

Thursday:

Shoulders and triceps

Friday:

Calisthetics (500 pushups,100 pullups)

Week 2

I switch up thursday and monday

Week 3

I do calisthetics on wednesday and thursday's my leg day.

The goal is to shock your body and give each body part 2 days rest before hitting it again. Ideally, you're suppose to take as much protein as your body so 40-50 grams a day plus the food you eat. Eat small meals to speed up metabolism. If you're trying to bulk up, take twice as much protein as your body weight.

To get defined do slow reps, to get mass do fast reps go heavy and do 6-8 reps.

Just keep hitting the iron my friend. As long as you stay consistent with your workout routine, you steadily increase the amount of weight you push, and you take in an adequate amount of protein you will see the transformation your desiring. Consistency is the key though. I've been working out since 2007 and it's been constant for the most part. I didn't work out for like 6 months last year because I was focused on graduating from school. But other than that i've been hitting the gym at least 3x a week. When I was really going hard about 2 years ago, I was in the gym at least 5x a week. I was dedicated to the cause and thus i've seen some good results. So I encourage you to continue to stick to it my friend. God bless your soul. Amen.

Idk how you have been lifting for 3 weeks and have no results. you can be doing it wrong and still see results. but listen, if you do 100 pushups every day for a week, were your stomach almost hits the floor, you will see results.

im in same situation as t/s, my metabolism is high as hell, think i got an iron deficiency....back when i played ball in high school i would get stronger and defined, but no actual mass occured. im thin now, tryna put some weight on too

Man get the P90X. I plan on gettin it. I still hit the gym tho. It takes time tho. At 3 months you should start seeing some kinda results. How long are you in there?

An hour and a half at most. I usually hit the weights for about an hour, and do some aerobic exercise for 30 min

my only hang up is my want for instant gratification when it comes to working out. i gotta dedicate myself and make it a habit to hit the gym regularly or someshit

Seriously tho fuck the weights. Just get a pull up bar, dip bar, and do push ups. And take care of ur lower body. Weights are overrated as fuck G.

Metabolism has no affect on it bruh. I have a fast metabolism too so if anything that shit makes me look a lot more defined where I don't even have to do situps. As you get stronger, you'll naturally grow bigger, just make sure you take 40-50 grams of protein a day, focus on strength, not on image and make sure you have a good routine. Back and biceps go together, chest, shoulders and tri's go together and legs is a muscle of it's own. The key to looking more fit is to do a lot of pullups. I usually bust out 4 sets of 30 like 2-4 times a week and bitches love a defined back and arms.

These niggas inspire me.
