I wasn't really inclined to see this one since the prequel trilogy was mostly wack. But seeing how a black Stormtrooper and a hispanic dude got these crackers in their feelings is probably gonna make me go see it opening weekend. I support anything that makes white people cry.

I'm not mad bro. It's the nature of business and more power to them.

I respect Lucas cause I have tremendous respect for independent filmmakers and people who do it on their own terms at all times which is something he managed to do for over 30 years.

That's why I would've supported his Episode VII because it would've came from him and it would've been his unapologetic vision for something he created and built up independently on his own. Whether I ended up liking the finished product or not that is something I respect.

But if I know I don't usually like a director's work (JJ Abrams) and I usually don't like studio exec controlled movies I'm not gonna do it to myself either.

Yall crazy if you think Disney will butcher this. This series is going to be way better than the prequels and probably almost - if not as good as the originals. This isn't Sony or Fox or any of them wack studios this is Disney. The same Disney that brought you The Avengers, Captain America and has even more on the way.

This shit is gonna SLAP. The Star Wars purist still stuck on the OGs are going to bitch and whine how it'll never be as good as the OGs but they still gonna watch it. This will pay homage but in no way is it aiming to compete with the OGs.

I said that there will be plenty of fan service. They got the king of pandering to movie execs and fanboys (JJ Abrams) so fan service will be all over the place. That's the easy route. My argument is that I don't really care for the easy route. Had Lucas done this I guarantee it wouldn't be pure fan service (look stormtroopers, and tattooine, the falcon and a new death star etc.) which would be more interesting to me as a viewer.

For the record I didn't like The Avengers and it's disappointment is what made me swore off every single Marvel Studios movie that came after it to date.

I really hope y'all have a great time at this one when it comes out but I'll be having a great time watching something else.

It all really boils down to how I stand by my convictions and vote with my dollars since it's my right to exercise it as a consumer.

I refuse to be pessimistic until I watch it and form my own view.. but I hope it will be good. Not easy because I hate most of the Marvel movies and thought the Abrams Star Trek movies were especially basura juice.

1 - 3 are prequels and Darth Vader's backstory as well as the fall of the Jedi

4 - 6 are the original trilogy and the return of the Jedi order via Luke Skywalker

7 - 9 are the upcoming movies

part 3 is decent and along with the original trilogy all you would really need to see leading up to the new ones I guess.
