See I ain't saying the nigga lyrics lazy or simple
I'm saying I don't like all that jazz shit
All that fake Andre 3000 after he fucked with Erykah Badu shit
I'm good on that
Expand your horizons fool. Cowboy Bebop is one of the GOAT anime soundtracks and that was predominantly Jazz. There's nothing wrong with him using a funk and jazz backdrop. If anything it doesn't sound plastic like much of todays rap. TPAB and uu. >>>>>>>>>>> Your existance
I like jazz. I love it actually. Even currently I listen to a lot of different types of jazz/jazz artists
I played trumpet in jazz band in high school and I currently stay up to date on most jazz scales on my guitars
Kendrick Lamar does not know jazz or funk. At all. He just takes different melodies that sound "jazzy" to him and he randomly mashes them together, which is why a lot of his songs don't seem to have any structure
Jazz actually has structure. It can be some of the most structured, complex music ever created. I feel like Kendrick is a mediocre artist perpetrating a fraud with his music.
Sorry /shrug
I disagree with you and i have no desire to argue but give me an example of one of his "fraudulent" songs with no structure.
Listen to a GKMC song. Literally every single one of those songs is structured
Listen to most of his stuff before or after GKMC. Most of those songs are not structured. He was trying and failing at jazz in his OD/Section 80 days too.
I remember when Rigamortis came out, you niggas over-hyped the FUCK outta that track
Structure means verse hook verse hook bridge breakdown verse hook verse hook etc etc. You know how popular songs are normally structured. That structure transcends and is prevalent within all genres
Like I keep saying, his songs are just jumbles of sounds for the most part
