Why do niggas still say shit like "only known on the internet"?

ITS THE FUCKING INTERNET! EVERYBODY is on the INTERNET. This ain't 1999.

Internet success/mixtapes + strong touring and simply being known as "the first artist signed to Roc Nation" can easily yield 250,000.

J-cole is an internet star nobody even considers him a mainstream artist. Hes like Memphis Bleek the certified hype man for Jay-z
Nobody is hating on this nigga I'm just skeptical about how you can justifiably have no buzz whatsoever and then supposedly sell 200k like this dude has a huge fanbase.
Uncle Jay has been buying his shit up to give Roc Nation another success.

This is what they don't understand. Oh and people need to realize this

Just because you and all 11 of your friends isn't listening to something doesn't mean no one else is.

Again, so the INTERNET is not mainstream? Yall niggas act like being big "only" on the internet is the equivalent of selling CD's out the truck of yo car or something.

250,000 is not some insanely unreasonable amount. You only need hit singles and excessive promotion and cross over appeal and all that when you talking 400,000 - 1,000,000 first week.

Its 2011 and Jim Jones and Soulja Boy have over 1 million followers on twitter and they still wouldn't sell this much 1st week and I would laugh at you if you said they could. In fact J cole don't even have 1 million followers on twitter.
Your analogy fails on multiple levels and in fact increases the suspect nature of this whole affair
