Nigga will discredit the entire genre just to justify drake having ghostwriters
You have a coon alias. Log off and go be a father.

Yet Drake has never said any of those things for the first 5+ years of his career and all of a sudden he's all about the Toronto culture lol please. He's just tryna assimilate with all the artist he steals from

You're comprehension is terrible because you're a purist and can't see past your narrative whether it's ego, selfishness or hate I can't call it I don't care dude. He's still moving units and at the top of rap but the fact remains he has writers, it's known and ppl don't seem to care, they're still buying his albums. Drake is not the only rapper to have ghostwriters and surely will not be the last. Ross was exposed for not being a drug dealer and being a CO and nobody gave a fuck he became more popular after that. A top 5 is irrelevant because it's subjective and doesn't really have anything to do with the argument at hand, different eras will have different lists.
And Hip-Hop is still a business and still popular culture I'm not sure why that's so hard for you to accept. Rap music is pop music today, that's why 50 Cent can have a song like wanksta and in da club or GRODT all over the pop charts and 50 Cent by no means comes off as a pop artist, his subject matter doesn't constitute as pop but lo and behold he sold 40 million albums. If Purists had their way Rick Ross and Drake wouldn't have careers..... somewhere along the way the ideologies and perceptions shifted. I think NaS summed it up perfectly that Hip-Hop is dead and you either use it for your own gain (a la Jay-Z) or take the blue pill.
And as for Alright, you will have songs like that which speak out to the times but it's still not a true counter culture the way it used to be. Public Enemy exemplified that to a T. But when Sprite uses Alright to sell soda and hide the fact they destroy water ecosystems in third world countries *cough cough Sudan* and pay ppl nickels and dimes to do it's hard to look at it the same way. It's a lot of songs that spoke to the world and were positive that didn't see the light of day for whatever reason.

Drake was the hottest free agent in the game upon his arrival into the mainstream. No question. He was highly sought after AND he signed to the hottest rapper at the time. There was essentially no struggle. Jay was an unknown when he dropped RD.
So Drake is bragging about nothing
