Nbadraft has Kyle Anderson going #9

Cant disagree more. I honestly feel w/his crazy slow foot speed, he doesnt really have an NBA career.

He's not playing PG, and w/out the ball in his hands he's a defenseive liability and too slow to b a threat on O. Imo he's Boris Diaw. And not even Diaw in his prime, Diaw NOW Lol

That's a huge reach but he's probably one of the most intriguing prospects to come along in a while. I've never seen anyone like him. Interested to see how his game translates in the pros.

A lotta these guys names that are coming up either I haven't heard of them until recently or I've never seen them play.

You never seen anybody like him the last few season's?

What about Royce White (Iowa State) who got drafted in 2012? LOL.

On the real Anderson seems to have a good feel for the game, he can play pretty well and can shoot solid. Maybe in the right system and if he can get in better shape he might be a solid NBA player. You never know how he might turn out because he is young but you can't knock the fact that he can play and has a solid feel for the game already

Shit if Anderson turns out to be Diaw now at his best that is still a solid NBA player. You making it seem like being like Diaw ( I know for the 9th pick that isn't great) is a bad thing. LMAO.

Royce White wasn't a PG tho he was a undersized PF who could pass well and his handle wasn't as tight as Anderson. He got exposed when he got to the pros. Nigga looked trash even in summer league. The pace that Anderson plays is what's most intriguing about his game. He makes you play at his pace whether you like it or not and he almost always makes the right pass. White was a turnover machine. You can trust KA to run your offense efficiently. Anderson's biggest red flags come from his defense and his inconsistent shooting.. although he has improved his jumper a lot since his freshman year. Comp is probably Lamar Odom/Hedo Turkuglu

Well ol boy said it was a 'reach' and he's one of the most intruiging prospects he's seen in a while....smh

Boris Diaw is 31, 265lbs, and avgs 9ppg and 4rpg...if thats what u expect from a Mcdonalds All-am (#1 ranked by many) and top 10 pick, do you

Im just drawing my line in the sand. The same reason MOST good/great white college players dnt make it in the league will also apply to Anderson. Foot speed. Its one of the few red flags that are rarely ever wrong. Watch him closely today n see how slow he moves on O and D.

Dnt pay attn to the stats, but watch n ask yourself: would he be able to play at this tempo in the league/playing the 3?

It's a reach only because the depth of the draft.. not based on his skill set. Any other year he goes lottery no question.

How many draft bust have there been that fit the bill ( All-American & Top 10 draft pick) you just listed above? LMAO. I agree most teams would want more out of their top 10 draft pick but if he has a career as good as Boris that is a win in most teams book because the odds of getting a worse player is historically higher.

I honestly think that a lot of NCAA players no matter what race fail in the NBA because they don't have a clear cut skill that translates. The reason guys like Adam Morrison, Michael Beasley, Tyler Hansboro and Marshon Brooks aren't great scorers (or players) in the NBA like they were in the NCAA is because of a myriad of reasons besides just athletic ability. Reasons like learning how to be an efficient offensive threat without having the ball in their hands, being a good individual defender or team defender, shooting, rebounding, ball handling, passing, screen setting or even being truly knowledgeable of the how the game is supposed to be played correctly.

A lot of NCAA players who put up big numbers usually get their numbers due to high usage rate and playing inferior competition. In the NBA if you can't usually get points in an efficient manner then the odds of you being a #1 scorer on a good team is very small, which means you must adjust your game or be out of the league A.S.A.P. If you are a pure overall shooter ( spot ups, coming off of flare & pin-down screens, off the dribble pull-ups, not needing a lot of shots to get your shot going and the free throw line) in the NCAA then your skill usually will be able to carry over to the NBA. Same thing with being a great rebounder, ball handler and passer in the NCAA.

Being a solid to great athlete is a part of excelling in the NBA but their are many examples of really good NBA players that are just average athletes that excel because they have a clear cut skill and understanding of how to play the game.

Jabari Parker tells @ESPNAndyKatz that his career is incomplete, and that could affect decision on whether to return for sophomore season.

Fuck...

this is why I wanted Duke to win that game in the end lol

@hiphopjunkie‌

Thats all well n good but none of that relates to what im saying. Which is: he's ABNORMALLY slow, so he wont make it. Yes, it can really be that simple

And re: a 'career like boris diaw', no, read that again, i said he'd be like boris diaw NOW. Diaw now is a shell of his former self. And even thats generous b/c diaw is 260 so he can play the 4. Anderson is light weight AND slow. Cmon people

Oddly enough, i looked him up and Bleacher report had a pro scout basically mirroring exactly what im saying. And i posted everythig im sayin before reading this:

Scout's Take

"I honestly don't see him lasting more than a few years in the league...The problem is this: How many NBA players do you know who are slow, which he is, other than standalone, knock-down shooters, which he isn’t?"

@S2J‌

Boris is actually playing some of the best ball of his career since signing with my Spurs. He is shooting great and playing good defense. I agree that Boris had some good seasons with the Suns and Bobcats before hand but to say he is a shell of his former self shows that you haven't seen him play with the Spurs this season.

Now as far as Anderson goes I will be honest and say I only seen the kid play 1 time and that was the bad game he had in this tournament against Tulsa. So I'm going off of the scouting reports I've read on pretty credible sources like www.draftexpress.com

I didn't say Anderson would be a good pro but if his career turns out to be something similar to what Boris Diaw is doing in San Antonio then the team that drafts him should at least be happy with the fact that they have a true NBA caliber player as opposed to some guy that should be a used car dealer.
