NFL.com's Michael Silver is reporting that Mike Smith has been personally assured of his job security for the 2014 season by Falcons' owner Arthur Blank.

Maybe the players won't quit on him now knowing that he'll have a hand in who's here next year and who ain't.

I remember when Mora got his contract extension a year before he got that work. lol

Defense held the Aints to 17 points and we couldnt get a win. At least we showed up tonight. Im past gettin mad after we lose but I thought we could pull this one out...

Like I said earlier, it's starting to dawn on some nikkas that they'll need/want jobs next year. I expect a better effort for the rest of the year from the "bubble" nikkas.

Nice avi my nigga.

With the other teams in the top 5 needing QB's its probably safe to say that we will have a chance to get Clowney. He needs to learn to play the run better but he is gonna terrorize Newton and Brees for the next few years.

You would pass on a talent like Clowney? I wouldnt with the way our pass rush has looked for the last 4 years.

Who would you trade back and get?

If you can get a Clowney or Jake Matthews you gotta take them

There's not that big of a difference between a late 1st rd pick and a early 2nd rounder to where you gotta trade out of the top 5

0 2nd half points? Same shit, different game.

I noticed that Konz has been benched. Reynolds and Trueblood still played like crap crumbs. I highly doubt that they'll be on the team next season. From what I've seen out of Johnson and Davis, I think that Roddy & HD's replacements are already on the team. Antone Smith also showed some fight last night. I truly believe that between the weed charge and Smith's play, Snelling will be cut. Asante is gone too. I know that y'all think Warrillow but when his # was called, he shined last night. We'll have a lot of money this offseason. I'm interested to see how many O-linemen and D-linemen are drafted and signed.

Oh yea, when I went into the Saints' thread I talked Football. I didn't go in there and post a lame ass joke or some old ass gif/pic. Ijs

lol @ the bold.

Well, when you're obsessed with men on the innanet or just started watching football in 2009 -- what more can you post on a sports forum? Come on, Numbaz, be fair.

As for the squad -- I'm losing faith in Konz. A lineman from Wisconsin is supposed to be automatically good like running backs from USC and OU or shooting guards from North Carolina. Dude is just a runt.

I like what I see from Johnson (other than the fumble that cost us the game winning score.) And Davis needs more opportunity.

I'm cool with us letting HD go - probably won't happen thanks to his stat spurt when Julio and Roddy went down. But I wish the fuck he would try to get a new deal out of us off that shit.

I personally think he doesn't put in enough effort in games. Everybody takes a down off here and there but he does it too much IMO. I'd rather trade our top 5 pick for an extra 2nd rounder and a future 1st. We need help in the trenches. This draft is much deeper than last season. Starting caliber talent will drop to the 25th pick.

Normally I would agree but this defense needs a playmaker and even though he takes plays off he still makes those plays that changes games

Pretty much. Anybody can look and see that this squad had flaws from day 1 but you take away 2 top 10 receivers and the best defensive player the team is gonna take a step back

FOH with them excuses.

Logos, mascots, and cheapseats posters win games. Not players.

You right

I blame you for everything. Julio would've never got hurt if you would've just shut the fuck up
