Man I remember that game, when Roddy caught that pass at the end to score the game winning touchdown, I almost broke my table. I remember there was a time when the Falcons sucked during primetime games, but in the past couple of years they've been showing out. I'm looking forward to five we have this year.

I used to dread seeing us in prime time too. Ironically, my two favorite prime time regular season games in the last 10 years both included Vick and the Eagles.

When we beat'em back in like '05 in week 2 (that big ass fight before the game between D'Angelo Hall and damn near the whole Eagles squad, lol.)

And then in 2011 when we came back to beat the Eagles in the dome. Matty was a g in that game. Got fucked up...

But then came back on some Rocky shit and iced the game. (Vick's fragile ass got hurt too but didn't come back. lol.)

Matty does not get enough credit for how tough he is. I've seen him get fucked up on numerous occasions and thought "welp, it's a wrap" and his cracka ass will go to the locker room and then come jogging back out like he just needed to take a shit. lol

Yeah I remember that first game cause Jeremiah Trotter got kicked out of that game because of the altercation and McNabb got hit something nasty and ended up getting hurt. I remember watching espn the next day and people were saying that was the only reason we won. Their best player got kicked out and the only player we lost was some second string special team player.

Now my favorite prime time game was also when Vick was here, but it was the Saturday December 2004 game when they played the Panthers and he dove into the endzone at the last second to send the game into overtime. That was the time when Julius Peppers used to give a nigga fits. Matter of fact I think Julius Peppers snatched the ball out of his hands in mid throw and ran it back for a touchdown in that same game.

When you think about it, Vick being fragile is the reason Matt Schaub got put on with the Texans cause of the way he performed when he got hurt. Before that Doug Johnson did pretty good also, but he was trash when he went to another team.

What was so great about that Eagles game was that tensions were still high from the NFC championship game from the previous season. The dome was crazy that whole game.

Speaking of the NFCCG. I was sick that whole day and to make matters worst my roommate was talking shit, not knowing I was Falcons' fan and I just wanted break his jaw something serious.

Maaaan! That same year when we hosted the St. Louis Rams my homeboy came over to talk shit cause we wasn't doing so well at first and I literally kicked that nigga out and told him not to come back till the game was over. Of course we ended up blowing them out, but I can't stand a nigga talking shit about the squad while we playing.

OOOOOOH shit. I forgot about the hover-game. lol. That nikka literally hovered 2 inches over the ground for that shit.

That shit still blows my mind to this day.

That was when ESPN still had Sunday night games (and respect). To this day that has to be the only 2 win team to get flexed out to primetime lol

Tony g wasnt there but the TE play is amazing. Harry douglas is crazy fast. But rodgers brother #18 is thr fastest on the team. He burnt people all night.

Davis is a solid number 2 qb. Goes thru progressions good nice arm. I still think with our week o line I think snelling hit holes better. He may not be a big name back but he run hard and will gash you after a failed bubble screen. He can make a 2nd and 11 into a 3rd an 3.

C/s Snellz. Snellz is my dude. But this Donald Russell kid is turning heads as a speed back. And that's just what we need to compliment Jax and Quiz.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Before a standing-room only crowd at Gainesville City Park, the Falcons conducted their first tackling to the ground of training camp, providing a little bit more of a glimpse as to what their 2013 team will look like.

Much of the evening was a fairly routine practice, but for the last half hour the offense and defense scrimmaged. Head coach Mike Smith said that under the scoring system that the team used, the night finished in a 14-14 tie.

Exempt from the live tackling portions were almost all of the first-team units on both sides of the ball with the exception of rookie cornerback Desmond Trufant. The Falcons did not want to risk those players to injury.

"Exactly," Smith said. "We had it all set in our minds. There were guys we were going to hold out from the tackling. It wasn't all the first team but there was a handful guys that did not participate in the scrimmage."

Smith said it was the longest the Falcons have been on the field since camp started on July 25.

Among the more revealing events of the night were times when Kroy Biermann worked with the first-team at outside linebacker, relegating Stephen Nicholas to working with the second team. Nicholas has started 48 of the 58 games he has played since 2009, including 15 of 16 last season.

Smith was asked if Nicholas were in for more of a position battle than he has been in years.

"Absolutely," he said. "I think there's no doubt. We're having an open competition at a number of positions, linebacker being one of them, secondary and the offensive line, those are probably the three areas where we're not set in terms of what our roster's going to look like when we get to our 53-man roster."

If Nicholas fails to win a starting job, he could represent a fairly expensive back-up. In 2011, he signed a five-year deal worth $17.5 million. Nicholas is set to earn $2.5 million this season and received a $5-million signing bonus when he inked the deal.

In the playoffs, he came under criticism from fans for his difficulty in covering opposing tight ends but that might have had to do as much with the scheme the team employed as it did any failings on Nicholas' part to execute it.

Nicholas said for him, the competition is nothing new.

"Every year I come in, I compete, man," he said. "It's the same to me, man. I come in and I work. I really don't see it as I'm going against somebody. I just come in and compete, man. That’s me."

One factor that could be working against Nicholas is the fact the Falcons appear as if they will shift to more multiple fronts in which Biermann will play a 3-4 style outside linebacker. Nicholas is not as suited to that role.

Nicholas admitted that the Falcons are doing a "couple of different things." He was asked what it was like to have to adapt to that.

"I mean, every year things change," he said. "We just look to try to get better every year. That's how I go. Whatever he do, it's to make us better so that’s what I strive for."

I think Kroy would probably be more suited on defense standing up as opposed to having his hands on the ground. I like the new scheme they are trying.

I don't really see Kroy being able to cover TE's any better than Nicholas. I think that was more of a scheme lapse than a certain player.

I've watched that NFCCG like 4 times and all I saw was Davis coming off the line or out of the backfield with NOBODY covering him directly.

I think Kroy as a OLB will work in most of the other areas tho.
