If anything...the fact that all these "ancient" civilization have a common story about a worldwide flood with little differences makes the story of the tower of Babel more plausible...

The story of Noah is likely one handed down and changed for tens of thousands of years.
Chances are high that such an event happened. Chances are high that this vessel was built for this purpose or maybe it was built for something else.
I do believe that humanity has endured several cataclysmic events, each one all but wiping out civilization and causing us to start over with what little survived.
There is speculation that the Sphinx and the structures surrounding it are over 400,000 years old.
According to ancient Vedic stories, humanity once faced extinction due to what can only be described as an atomic war. This war could have been the catalyst for the last ice age (aka a nuclear winter). This works because the story, The Mahabharata, is supposedly between 22,000 and 40,000 years old (though some speculate that the story is to have taken place more recently - around 5500BC). This is plausible because there have been cultural finding in the Indus valley dating back over 70,000 years.
There will be a great many more things to find in this world. Some findings may force us to completely rewrite history as our understanding of what once was is increased.
So these people were able , to plot and accurately predict weather patterns and on top of that have ingenuity to build such a large as raft, I'm sorry but it's all just bullshit.
And no the sphinx isn't 400 000 years radio carbon dating is pretty straightforward
Lol at the rainbow , being a promise from god that he would never destroy the world with water again , but Katrina & 2004 Asian tsunami still happen.. So this god must be a politician ,making promises he can't keep since genesis...

There hasn't been one set of bones that has shown up to prove such fuckery. You would think, with what the bible claims, that men lived such long years, we would've found evidence for this.

fortyacres&amule;6590053 said:Rahlow;6589973 said:The flood was a result of rain falling from above down to the earth for the first time ever.
Prior to that water came from many geysers across the globe
It rained from above for 40 days and 40 nights nonstop with no breaks in between. (tf the very first rain was nothing like even the worst rainfall on record... if God is setting this off then I'd imagine that it was 10+ times worse)
They geysers below were spitting out water full thrust nonstop.
The effect of all of this would cause massive erosion like none ever seen and could have potentially caused plates to move and either created new continents or cause them to shift further apart creating new oceans/seas/rivers/bays/lakes/marshland etc.
Think in your mind how long it takes to flood an area with a natural major thunderstorm with 3/4/5 hours of massive rainfall nonstop falling at a rate uncomparable to the first rain on the planet which set off Noahs flood?
Compare that to geysers across the globe on fullblast like never before running nonstop for 40 days and 40 nights nonstop with no break?
The first rain being like none other on record pouring at a capacity beyond measure for 40 days and 40 nights with no break?

The Bible says that Noah was 600 years old when the flood waters came upon the earth. God commanded Noah to bring his family and all the animals aboard the Ark and seven days later, it began to rain and God shut the door to the Ark. The Bible says that it all began “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” [Genesis 7:11]
It then began to rain for 40 days and nights. As the waters rose, the Ark was borne upon the waters with it. The waters covered all of the mountains by a depth of 15 cubits [about 22 feet 6 inches; the Ark itself was 30 cubits high, or 45 feet tall.]
After it rained that 40 days and nights, the waters prevailed on the earth for another 150 days [5 months] and everything that wasn’t aboard the Ark died. God made a might wind to pass over the earth and the waters began to recede. In fact, the Bible says that at the end of the 150 days of nothing but water, the Ark grounded itself on Mount Ararat. It was the 17th day of the 7th month of that year.
The waters continued to recede for a little over 2 months more, until on the 1st day of the 10th month, the tops of the mountains were exposed.
40 days after the tops of the mountains were seen, Noah sent forth a raven and a dove to see if the flood waters were abated. The dove returned to him, unable to find land, so he waited a week and sent it out again. This time, it came back with an olive leaf in its mouth. He waited yet one more week and sent it out one last time, but it did not return.
In the 601st year, 1st month and 1st day [on Noah's birthday in other words], he looked and saw that the “face of the ground” was dry. But apparently not yet firm. On the 2nd month and 27th day, the ground was dry and God commanded Noah and those aboard the Ark to leave it.
So if we calculate the time that passed between the point where God shut the door of the Ark until God commanded them to leave it:
Year 601 Month 2 Day 27 [End date]
- Year 600 Month 2 Day 17 [Begin Date]
= 1 Year 0 Months 10 Days
So there was no condensation ever on this planet till that event , lmao are you listen to yourself
So how did plants come about prior to this event ?

1. Actually Noah was 600 years old when the flood came.
"Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth." Genesis 7:1
2. It took Noah 120 years to build the arc. So simple math tells us that he was 480 when he started building.
"Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” Genesis 6:3
There is a double fulfillment to the above verse as well. God gave man 120 years to repent while the arc was being built and God also reduced Man's lifespan to a maximum of 120 years, thus you see that after the flood man no longer lived to be 900+ years old, but man's life span gradually reduced to where the average age that some one lives is 70-80 years old.
"Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away." Psalm 90:10
By saying 600 years and 120 years you are just making it even worse , lmao
I can't argue with you Christian nuts

Katrina and the Asian tsunami were local events. God said that the rainbow would be a sign of His covenant to never again destroy ALL life with a flood. Key word ALL.
"12And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” Genesis 9:12-16
Lol at quoting the bible to proof your point , give me another source ....
How would Noah have known if this was a global event or a local event , you do realize for a primitive people everything would have been relative. If the whole globe was submerged in water how come flash floods did not continue after "the flood" ? Oh that's right Gandalf sorry I mean God made it all go away...
Lol at Noah being Kevin Costner in waterworld .
